About us
McLean's has become a landmark bar and restaurant in the downtown core of Montreal with its authentic Irish Pub atmosphere. McLean's a wide array of food dishes and a wide selection of imported and domestic beers. McLean's pub-style decor provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy all the latest sporting events on one of the many big screen satellite TV's positioned all around the bar. Upstairs, guests can partake in a friendly game of pool or just sit back and enjoy the company of good friends.

This one is a tricky review. I went there looking for a sports bar with the Habs & the Jays ALCS game 7 on the TVs. I was welcomed & seated at a great table with views of both games. Service was excellent & very accommodating (downstairs). I decided to move upstairs where they had the Jays game on full time with audio. There was NO service upstairs. It was self serve bar only with one bartender who was head down & scrolling when I went to get a beer. Most people (a packed house) had empty drinks, empty plates, etc. The wings were great, & atmosphere was very fun. But there was no service upstairs. The staff member who was wearing a black t-shirt & clearing tables was the hardest working guy there & deserves tips.

My husband enjoyed the beer. He's always on the hunt for (non-lager or non-pilsner) beers he hasn't had. He is devoted to Untapp'd for logging each new beer. We ate. I looked at the menu to jog my memory (it has been several weeks), but it seems to have changed. It was good, though.

We encountered a super cool waitress! She recommended us delicious fish & chips ! Beers were good! Really good spot.

Shoving a pile of sand & dust into your mouth would be more moist than the burger here, forcing you you wash it down with whatever drink you have so you don't choke to death, it paired well quite possibly the worst fries ever fried all while you can't hear what the person sitting across from you is saying due to the hoards of finance bros yelling over each other all fighting to be the most boring person alive along with the nonstop barrage of the worst music you've ever heard .

Pool tables are nice & well kept, beer is affordable, met some nice people & had a great time. Didn't order any food so I can't say anything about it

Cool pub. Has kind of an Irish pub feel. Server was great.
Pretty decent selection of beers which seems to be unusual in Montréal for some reason. For example, multiple IPAs whereas a lot of places seem to have just a couple. & often, the servers don't seem to know much about the beers. In Mcleans' case, the server was knowledgeable.
Really liked the fish & chips. Mainly the fish part. Chips were ok.
Doesn't look like much from the street but decent inside.
Prices were competitive with what I've seen elsewhere.
Price for three IPAs, fish & chips & a small pizza was about $70 US.
You gotta go & look into the men's restroom downstairs. The urinals are made from old beer kegs. Something to see. Surprisingly functional. Ladies, the men's room is down the hall past the women's restroom. Be careful. The door was wide open & you could get quite a view.

Met a good friend here for a good pub meal. Had the best seats in the house! Nice cold beer, great food, however they screwed up our plates. I ordered fries & he ordered salad. I said it's OK & the waitress responded that she'd have to charge me an extra as it's fries that comes with the meal & not salad. She wanted to charge me for their screw up! The plates went back to the kitchen & they fixed the order. Delicious burger & fries!

Another Irish pub visit on our Montreal excursion.. great atmosphere cold beer & quick service at the bar . That's the trick sit at the bar get quick service. Food was mediocre at best but your in a Irish pub. Beer made it better . They serve some massive beer towels a seen by the picture here. Good place check it out ☘?🤙

Wonderful bilingual restaurant. The pizza was wonderful & the beer was cold! The atmosphere definitely took us to England!

Good place to grab beer but don't expect much if you're hungry. Fish & chips had very thick almoat pastry like breading. Fries were ok. Hubby had hot dog poutine. Gravy was good. Very little hot dog. Friendly service.

Not my favorite bar in Montreal. It's good to watch a game but that's it. Atmosphere is meh & the service is passable.
I wouldn't come back unless I don't have another option to watch a game.
They do have a decent selection of beers on tap tho

2 nice billiard tables. Nice beers. There is an ATM downstairs to withdraw money for the billiard, but the service fee was horrendous (12$ for the mini.u. withdrawl of 20$)
EDIT FOLLOWING OWNER'S REPLY: Thanks, Stuart. Unfortunately, it was not 3$, but 12$ fee, I double-checked. However, if you're sure & I am the only one having this issue, then you're probably right about the 3$ on your ATM & the other 9$ must have been caused by my bank for some reason?! Anyhow, we had a lovely evening!

Perfect pub atmosphere. Football was on, dim lighting, good beer. Bartender was friendly, as well as some of the regulars.
You'll wanna try the chilli dog- it's delicious.
Watch out for the beers though, some of the prices can sneak up on ya.
