Review Summary

McKibbins Irish Pub offers a warm, festive Irish pub vibe with a broad beer list, hearty traditional dishes and generous portions, and live music or karaoke that many reviews say enhances the night. The atmosphere and staff are frequently praised for friendliness and attentiveness, making guests feel welcome and likely to return, though service can be inconsistent and occasionally slow during busy times. Food gets praise for comforting dishes like bison burger, Irish stew, and fish and chips, but several reviews note variability in quality and prep, with some items coming out greasy or underseasoned and drinks not always refilled promptly. Noise levels can be high, especially during sports events, and some comments compare the experience unfavorably to other McKibbins for sports coverage, but the terrace and overall vibe are often highlighted as a strong point, inviting repeat visits for a fun, sociable night out.

Food & service is a hit or miss. Been here twice with the first time having great service & decent food. The second visit was horrible. Waited two hours & had yet to get our food. As usual, tables that came an hour after we ordered got their food. The waitress was nice, kept going to the kitchen & telling us it would take about 10 more minutes a couple of times, but still no food. Someone in our group of 6 talked to the manager about the two hour wait for food (all that was ordered was a couple of burgers, a sandwich, wings & fries). She said there was nothing she could do about the wait. They were busy. The place was half empty & it was 9:15pm on Monday night. We kept pressing & she finally said she had to make a phone call to discuss the situation (if you are the manager you should have the power to make decisions & handle problems). Came back with an offer of a round of shots (we refused cause all we wanted was our food). When we said we wanted to cancel the food orders, she gave an offer of a round of beers (again we refused cause we already had 2 beers each & at this point just wanted to pay for our drinks & leave). She gave a final offer of comping a beer if we waited for the food (for some reason she didn't like the idea of canceling the food orders). Another 30 minutes later the food came. It was around 9:45. So after waiting 3 hours for the food order…the burgers, wings & fries came & they were all cold. If there was a table that waited 3 hours for their food, as a manager I would definitely make sure that the order was accurate & piping hot. It feels like the staff said screw these paying customers so that they would never come back.
