Review Summary

@ matcha is widely celebrated as a unique and authentic destination for tea enthusiasts in Montreal, praised for its high-quality matcha, creative blends like the popular Iron Matcha and Avocatcha, and thoughtful use of house-made pumpkin seed milk. The space is frequently described as a cozy, artistic, and calming gem where visitors appreciate the educational approach to tea culture and the visible passion poured into every preparation. While most patrons find the experience inspiring and the service deeply knowledgeable and welcoming, a small number of guests have encountered a more rigid or cold atmosphere, noting that the focus on tradition and specific shop standards can occasionally lead to tense interactions. Overall, those who value a genuine, slow-paced, and artistic tea experience consider it a standout establishment that offers far more than a standard cafe visit.

Love this cozy little hole-in-the-wall tea salon. The owner is knowledgeable & helps you choose a matcha that's right for you :3 There are only a few tables, but the walls are covered with paintings & bookshelves, & the regulars are friendly. I don't go there that often because it's well out of my way, but 100% worth the trip by public transit. If memory serves there's a Bixi stand close by as well.

So glad I found this gem of a spot! As a budding matcha enthusiast, I was nerding out on everything Nestor had to offer & all the knowledge he shared. Come here for the vibes & unique, delicious drinks! Ps. Nestor- If you see this, I tried stopping by for a Sesamatcha before heading back to the states & was bummed that I missed you before your trip! Thanks again for such an awesome experience. Safe travels & hope to visit your shop again soon 🍵

Friend & I spent an hour or so doodling here. The vibes are quiet & relaxing. We had the tea tasting, & I'm not a big tea person outside of matcha but it was fun to try different flavours. The owner is nice & clearly passionate about what he does.

This is definitely one of the best places I have been to. Got the matcha marreto. It comes in a big 500 ml bottle. It is very light, flavorful & soothing. The perfect mix of flavors of almond, dates & rice. The owner is very nice & friendly.

The most amazing shop in Montreal! I came here with my girlfriends for my Bachelorette & came across this shop. Nestor is so incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, & the most down to earth person! We got to taste so many teas & had many good laughs. He is also a painter so the shop is decorated with amazing artwork you can buy. I was able to get this masterpiece & am so thankful. You truly feel so wholesome going into this shop. It's an ABSOLUTE MUST for anyone in Montreal! 🤩
