Cozy tea room and boutique in Plateau Mont Royal area offering matchas, houjichas, japanese teas, and unique specialty blends. We make the best matcha lattes! Also we serve warm pot de crème!!
Reviews for @ matcha highlight high quality, flavorful matcha across ceremonial, iron, and avocado styles, with popular options including jasmine and pumpkin seed milk and choices for unsweetened drinks. The space is described as cozy, charming, and calming, with attractive decor and art that enhance the experience, and the tastings are praised for care, variety, and learning about tea. Service quality is mixed, with some visitors finding staff warm and attentive and others noting moments of cold or slower service; no plastic glasses are used and presentation is thoughtful. Overall the focus on authentic craft and the apparent passion behind the drinks comes through, and many say they would return or recommend @ matcha to fellow tea lovers.
We were just window glazing & immediately attracted by this cute tea room. The decor is so cute & special, the owner is so kind & insightful, we talked for a very long time & he's passionate about what he's doing, introducing the tea to people & actually bringing the culture & value behind the tea, & nurture the appreciation for the tea. We got the Avocatcha (avocados, matcha, & dattes), it was really fresh & original, we could feel the raw taste & scent of matcha. Can't wait to come back again!
The owner of this store is the kindest man. You can tell he really cares about his customers & is passionate about tea & art! All the paintings & interior design is done by him. Cutest shop ever🤍

The shop is very quaint & cute, the tea tasting was fantastic, the shop owner was very grumpy. Not sure why he was so unfriendly with us. He was not welcoming & made our visit uncomfortable. We understand you may be following specific cultural traditions & we would have loved to learn more about them & respect them but no need to be so cold with your customers that are happy to come in & support your business ✌?
Randomly went here due to my friend searching google maps on our visit to Montreal. No pictures because we were too busy chatting with the owner about sweetened vs. unsweetened matcha, Chinese tea, & the tea scene in Montreal. Owner was kind enough to give us unsweetened versions of our drinks to try when we mentioned that we like our drinks without sugar. Delicious 😋
My boyfriend & I were here in Montreal for a dragon boat race two weeks ago. I found this place from a recommendation & was determined to try out the matcha drinks! We got the iron matcha & hojicha choco & they both did not disappoint the slightest bit. The decorations were lovely & cozy (he also has beautiful paintings). Nestor was so kind & nice & friendly & you could tell how passionate he was in curating the best & most healthy drinks for his customers, getting the best ingredients from all over the world. During our chit chat he even offered some delightful snacks (best date with cashew ive ever had!!) & mini drinks of cermonial matcha & jasmine tea (also the most fragrant & delicious jasmine tea ive had). It was a great experience & we promise to come back if we ever visited Montreal again. Or let us know if you ever open a place in Vancouver haha!
Amazing drink, good vibes, & good view. I talked with the owner. He is really passionate about what he is doing, & his knowledge about teas in general & matcha in particular is wide, so he could have the best option for the customer. I highly recommend the Jasmatcha if you love a drink that is not sweet & has a light scent of jasmine.

Heard about this tea house from the media & the lasting impressions of the general public, so decided to give it a go (as a matcha enthusiast myself). I was impressed. Nestor is definitely one who shows his passion, even his stories about his travel & craft have been quite inspiring to say the least. I left a visual review on my insta which he has seen as well. I am really glad to have given this a try on my last day in Montréal. Worth every minute & cent spent. More power to you & your cafe, Nestor :)
We have been to many cafés & tea houses in Montreal, but this is our all-time favourite teahouse for matcha. Nestor is a master of his craft, & his knowledge of tea truly inspires us to learn more about the art of tea-making.
We especially enjoy the iron matcha & order it on every visit. That said, there are many options to choose from-ranging from traditional serving styles to more refreshing & creative blends.
We always leave feeling recharged & refreshed, & we learn a new fun fact about tea with each visit.
On our endless search for the finest matcha, we took a delightful chance on a mysterious, intimate tea room. They quickly exceeded our expectations, showcasing an impressive selection of organic matcha & a variety of enchanting Japanese & Taiwanese teas.
What makes this tea room unique is its dedication to matcha drinks-not the traditional lattes you often come across, but rather thoughtfully crafted beverages that celebrate the rich flavors & qualities of matcha in their purest forms. We were particularly taken with the presentation; our drinks were served in sleek glass bottles to go.
We decided to try the Ironmatcha, infused with the warming essence of cardamom, which created a bold yet comforting flavor profile. The Jasminematcha was equally captivating, as fragrant as it was delicious, highlighting the delicate notes of jasmine.
We were pleasantly surprised by the pumpkin seed milk, which was just incredible. Its earthy, nutty flavor paired harmoniously with our matcha selections.
Additionally, the tea room featured a charming boutique with an array of tea-related items, from exquisite tea sets to premium matcha tools, allowing visitors to take a piece of their experience home.
Interestingly, this place doesn't seem to engage with social media, as we discovered a humorous sign stating'no TikToks' inside! It only added to the authenticity & allure. It's clear that the focus here is on creating a genuine & intimate experience rather than cheap marketing.
Our visit was a delightful adventure, & we couldn't resist sharing the wonderful experience we had. This tea room is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates the artistry of matcha & the tranquility of a serene tea experience. 🎋🍵✨
charming cozy tea house! the tea tasting is a must! I personally loved the jasmatcha & couldn't help but order more! looking forward to stopping by again
Such a great locally-owned matcha spot! The owner really knows their stuff when it comes to teas, & you can tell they genuinely care about the products they sell. The milk for lattes are homemade! I love stopping by for a quick chat & always end up learning something new about tea.
Visiting & learning from Zestor is such an amazing experience. He warmly shared his passion for matcha, carefully explaining the differences & health benefits of every tea. Specialty shops like At Matcha are becoming more rare, & Zestor's unapologetic passion for what he does makes the experience so much more special. We love you Zestor!!!
Love this cozy little hole-in-the-wall tea salon. The owner is knowledgeable & helps you choose a matcha that's right for you :3 There are only a few tables, but the walls are covered with paintings & bookshelves, & the regulars are friendly. I don't go there that often because it's well out of my way, but 100% worth the trip by public transit. If memory serves there's a Bixi stand close by as well.
