Calamari was a big portion, delicious & tender! Must get as everyone in the restaurant had a plate on their table. Lamb chops were also very good, moist & flavorful. The chicken souvlaki wasn't that great as I found it to be dry, wish I ordered the rib steak instead. Every table seemed to have gotten basket of bread but we didn't & we didn't realized until halfway through our meal.
Would come back next time we're in Montreal to try the steak & definitely back for the calamari!Voir plus

We had the Chicken Skewers, Pork Skewers, Lamb Chops (so tender & perfectly cooked), & fried Calamari, along with all the classic sides. Everything was full of flavor & cooked just right. I think this restaurant has gone downhill. I also prefer the pre Reno woodpanel 60s vibe. Music was too loud, but that could be a personal preference. one of the waiters (not ours) was talking about personal things with other waiters using vulgar language which was pretty low class (I wouldn't mind that if it was some sort of hole in the wall greasy spoon but I'm spending a hundred bucks on dinner I want a little bit of professionalism ). The Caesar salad was pretty pathetic (maybe a 2 on 10) & they gave us the main meal a minute or two after serving the salad (which would have been an issue if we had wanted to finish the salad but in this case it wasn't). I would not recommend the loose gyro plate, i found the cut to be too thick but that can be a personal preference. The lamb chops looked good but passed on that when tzatziki was an $8 add-on. In retrospect I probably should have splurged for the lamb chops & maybe this would have given a better experience.Voir plus

Best Greek grill in Montreal, since 1973 ! We've been coming for years & never disappoints. The rib steak is truly amazing, tender & expertly grilled. It's served with sautéed mushrooms, chunky home fries, & a huge Greek salad. Honorable mentions & must-haves are also their lamb chops & abundant calamari. Special thanks to Jimmy & Peter, for the exceptional service. This is a landmark in Montreal, & truly worth a trip to Park Extension. There may be lineups, but it's worth it. Attentive service & amazing food. The place is pretty small for how popular they are, so expect at least a 20 minute wait during peak hours. The lamb chops are flavorful & tender. Calamari is just lightly breaded & crispy & fresh. Greek salad comes with a block of feta cheese & not just feta crumbles. Highly recommend their pork gyro pita. Marven's is hands down the best Greek restaurant I've been to! Been coming from Ottawa especially to eat here for the past 30 years very consistent, staff treats us like family. Classic Greek restaurant in Montreal. The fried calamari appetizer is very good & is enough to feed 4 people. I had the pork souvlaki. It was good but nothing extraordinary. I've had better souvlaki elsewhere. The complimentary bread was also not great. My friends ordered the lamb which was very good. Potato house fries are good as well. The rice & salad were average. Service was nice & fast. There are better Greek restaurants in Montreal in the plateau area but overall not a bad choice.Voir plus
Impossibly crowded restaurant which, unfortunately , doesn't create a good first impression when you are waiting in the doorway for your table. Staff does a remarkable job trying to accommodate every arrival. The food is good, your basic chicken, pork, or lamb on a pita or in a platter, but I have to ask myself is it worth the wait? Cash only & no reservations makes little sense & seems to accommodate the owner more than the customers. Don't think I will be back for awhile.Voir plus
