Where to begin…
For her good service, her patience & the advice she provided us, our waitress deserves a pay raise. She was sweet & efficient. Congrats on hiring good workers!
The food is what brings the score down. The meat was chewy & slightly burned. There was wayyyy too much tzatziki on the pitas, although the tzatziki was very tasty(coming from a sauce girl like me, this means something). The fries had no taste at all. The Greek salad was essentially tomatoes with oil, a couple of cucumbers & two olives. The fish dip… run. But I'm not a fish fan, so don't take my word for it.
The portions are very generous, which compensate slightly for the prices & the quality.
Overall alright experience, although very mid. I probably won't come here again. Props on parking though! It's nice to have easy parking spaces in Montreal.
Warmest regards.View more
Marathon's has been around for a very long time. Deservedly so, as they have kept they food quality & great taste along with generous portions. My personal favorite is their loose meat pork gyro plate, with half & half fries & crispy golden potatoes. It comes with delicious rice & their marathon salad topped with their famous dressing. Mix the salad with some of the meat for a delicious treat. The service is friendly & I'm surprised every time how fast their dishes come out. Marathon's is true staple of Greek food in Montreal. You can't go wrong.View more
It's always packed so go early! Food is great, service is efficient. You have to take the Marathon salad with their fries. Always hits the spotView more
They really know their way to make beautiful deep fried foods! The calamari & dollar fries are both amazing. Their pork souvlaki & gyro pork are also pretty great. If anything, the tzatziki & salad were too salty to the level that for sure will spike your blood pressure. Oh the portion is great!View more
Was really disappointed by what I got & the price. Food was cold , rice was undercooked & hard & the fries burnt. The food quality was really under par for the cost. This used to be my favourite place to eat , definitely won't be going back.View more
I eat Marathons for the past 20 years but recently the food hasn't been impressive. I also eat there about 4 times a month. The fries she never edible recently. Always overlooked or stale really not sure why. Please fix this. The portions are always getting smaller & smaller while prices increase. Why is bread not included anymore? Unless you ask for it? I love Marathons but if this comment isn't taken seriously then I will need to reconsider. Please fixView more
Took food to go. Had to return because they forgot to add my rice & fries. Everything was delicious, though. Good portions, too.View more
The fried calamari plate comed marathon salad & fries, is on the menu for $26.25. If you are looking for a delicious & affordable Greek meal, Marathon Souvlaki is definitely worth considering.View more
We have been eating at this restaurant for years. I always have the souvlaki pita plate. The souvlaki, Marathon salad, rice & fries are delicious, especially the rice. I am not normally a big rice eater, but theirs is flavored with something that really makes it taste good. The menu says, for the plates, that you have to choose between rice & fries, but you can ask for "half half", & get a bit of both. The servers are always friendly & polite. The prices are very good & very affordable. You definitely get your money's worth.View more
Very tasty chicken souvlaki, tender, good portion, perfect fries! Well organized place.View more
My new favourite Greek restaurant in MTL!! Portions are generous, & service was friendly, professional, & fast. Alex was fantastic! Tried the following: - calamari - big pieces :) You can taste some eggs from the batter, but overall it was tasty, & the seafood sauce wasn't overpowering - gyro - shaved pork pieces were juicy & flavourful - chicken skewer- juicy & tasty The rice was delicious, the salad was crisp & the dressing was tasty, & the fries were crispy & moist on the inside. I love the fact that as a side dish you have the option of getting all 3 items (fries, rice, & salad). So you can try all 3 without paying extra charge. The only reason they didn't get the 5th star was because they didn't have the fillet mignon available, & that's what we really wanted to eat. Also the platter doesn't come with Tzatziki sauce. Other than that it's an amazing place with reasonable prices. Definitely will come back.View more
Very average to below average Greek restaurant. Once a great Greek restaurant in Chomedey laval on Blvd. notre Dame, the family owned business built this into a multi location & in guessing franchise model as the food is sub par. Famous for their home made salad dressing & silver dollar style (frozen) fries, all else is not the same. Service is slow Atmosphere is outdated & needs a serious update. Value. Food to quality to taste to portion to price - on the lower spectrum of value. I seriously can't recommend anything that I would take responsibility for should you likely not like it. The fries & salad dressing was the best (of the worst) & I can't say more. This is a real shame as the brand was big way back. I guess the family has opted for mediocre & money over quality & pride in the food they serve. Who's to say they are wrong. For me - it's wrong for me. If you want great affordable authentic Greek? Go to Greek town grill in chomedey or the West Island or Yai Sou on queen mary.View more
Good greek place. Overall good experience. Portions are big for the price. Some little things about the dishes: - Wish they had different kind of potatoes/fries because it ruins a bit the dish. They are dry & noy much taste. - Pork souvlaki was a bit dry too. Otherwise free parking. Easily accessible.View more
This place has never disappointed & the food quality is 🔥! I always keep it simple in my order for my plates: marathon salad & half-half (token potatoes fries & pilaf rice). All the pita sandwiches are worth the bucks & the staff are very friendly. I always go to the one on Decarie & will never change the formula. p.s. My mom love this restaurant & keep asking me to take her back. 😎 Try it & you will love it/ L' essayer c'est l'adopter... ✌️View more
Came a couple of times already. Food is pretty good, price is reasonable, & portions are filling. The souvlaki, lamb chops & fries are delicious. Really recommend the marathon salad over the Greek salad, which mainly consisted of tomatoes (?!). Rice tend to be a bit undercooked to my taste. Lunch menu is available with some of the same food, but a bit cheaper.View more
Fantastic restaurant with great food & service! I went here for brunch on a Saturday & had an excellent souvlaki pita plate. The fries were good, the salad was good (although was maybe a bit too heavy on the tomatoes); & the pita was excellent. I would highly recommend this place!View more
One of my favourite souvlaki place to eat!
The service is excellent & really fast!
The food is amazing & fresh everytime!
The portions are phenomenal
My boyfriend & i usually take a trio of chicken pita with sides of salad marathon & fries + another chicken pita so we can share the salad & fries for 2 & it fills us up every time!
The place is always clean & the servers are really nice! :)
