First of all, the restaurant name can be a little misleading. It's "Manga Bistro Sushi" but it has absolutely nothing to do with Mangas, nothing. Yes, in Japan they do have Manga Cafe where you dine & read mangas there, this place is not it. It's just a regular sushi buffet restaurant covered in anime wallpapers & figurines, that's it. I will give them the credits that the interior decoration looks amazing but that's as far as it goes. Now let's talk about the food itself. Let's just keep it simple, does it have more variety of sushi compared to other similar places down the street, not really. Does it taste better than others, not at all. The selling point is the decoration, that's really it. Although the price is higher than others. There are some sushi/rolls you can clearly tell that they are using old rice as it is super dry, stiff & easily fall apart. This is a bonus since it might not apply to a lot of people, but also a warning. For customers who happen to enjoy torched Nigiri. It is no secrets that this place is all about presentations. When they serve you torched Nigiri, they torch it in front of you, on your table. I don't know which genius thought this was a good idea, as you may have personal belongings that can be damaged accidentally if left on the table. Perhaps, eventually light someone on fire, then sued to oblivion. Not to mention that there are flammable materials on the table like napkins. A small accident or some silly kids being rough are all it takes to start the Billy Joel song. If this practice does not change, it is only a matter of time. I would recommend you to tell the waiters to torch it properly where it is safe. The funny thing is that the chefs already torch it slightly in the back, then waiters torch it again right in front of you for presentations. You might think that I am being paranoid but the reason why this section is so big is because they accidentally lit my table on fire & made a mess with water trying to extinguish it. Lastly, the service isn't bad at all. I really like the fact that you can just order it on the tablet assigned to each table. The serving time is relatively fast. In conclusion, if you live outside of Montreal & here for the weekend, then sure try it because why not, the visual is somewhat spectacular. But if you want to get your money worth, then this isn't the place for you for sure. It is one of those places that you go once for the experience & take pictures then never return again.

The place looks wonderful, & the service was impeccable. The food was great except for one or two items we liked a bit less. As for any all you can eagerly place, i strongly recommend ordering small quantities at a time. We made the mistake of ordering too much. However, the server was very comprehensive about it!
Très bonne service. C'est un peu petite mais c'est très cool pour les enfants. Service rapide, très organisé, agréable & la nourriture est tres bonne! Je recommande fortement ce bistro! 😊
This is the perfect example when you put too much effort in the environment to attract people & nothing in the food. I've tried a lot of sushi restaurant, also in Japan & this was one of the worse. Each piece with different kind of fish was tasteless, I couldn't feel any difference & taste in the fish. Too much rice & no salt at all. The only things with a taste was the smoked ones for obvious reasons. The worst part was the price: almost 60 dollars per person including taxes. They could justify the price if they wanted to replicate a unique experience like the themed restaurant that you can find in Japan with thematic food & drinks. But this is only a simple all you can eat with bad food covered with anime posters & figures only to attract anime fans. The only positive thing was the service, really fast & kind. Not recommended in any case, even if you want to go just to try an experience, because it's not
The decor in this place is amazing, although I would recommend reserving ahead of time to avoid waiting in line. Keep in mind, you are paying 50$ for ayce quality but their menu is quite big & service was very quick despite how busy they were. The tempura was especially amazing when I visited but you're mostly going for the atmosphere anyways. I personally would not revisit unless it were to introduce it to someone who loves anime/manga. Note that they don't have many drink options or desserts to choose from.
Atmosphere is super chill & real cool early on a Monday. If you're okay having an early dinner, & you don't mind ordering via tablet, I definitely recommend this place.

Honeslty disappointing. Some food was good, others not so great. It felt like a gamble ! Half the staff was amazing. I would recommend that you try at least once, especially if you are into mangas, but I wouldn't make it a regular dinner spot.
I have visited numerous all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants, & this particular establishment ranks among the *least* satisfactory. 1. The atmosphere deserves a 5/5 rating, especially appealing to anime fans due to its decor. Regrettably, it appears that more attention & effort were invested in the ambiance than in the quality of the food. 2. The food falls short of expectations. The sushi lacks flavor, with approximately 90% of the items being unsatisfactory. The exception was the salt & pepper shrimps. 3. The service was subpar. The staff hurriedly placed food on the sides of the table, displaying a lack of attention. One waitress accidentally spilled soy sauce on our friend's top while clearing plates, oblivious to the mishap. The entire staff seemed to operate on autopilot. Being obligated to give a 15% tip for such service is disappointing 👎🏽 In summary, I would not recommend this place for all-you-can-eat sushi. There are far superior options available at the same price. The popularity is likely due to the abundance of anime memorabilia, but the dining experience does not live up to the hype ☠️
Would totally recommend, it has become my favorite all you can eat sushi place. I parked near the restaurant forgetting it was there & when I saw it I had to go in. When you got Godzilla holding sushi, bonus points. Long live the king Gojira
