Mamie looks super cute & I'd been excited to try it out for days. The setup is adorable & the vibes were great when we went with friends after dinner. The server who seated us was friendly & we got a table quickly even though it was busy.

Then, we sat for a while with no menus while we watched other tables (even those seated after us) being taken care of. We eventually had to ask for a menu, but even then we weren't shown the wine board - just asked to describe what we wanted.

I'm visiting so I don't speak the language & was totally fine to let everyone converse & order in French, but the server was apparently unimpressed that I wasn't paying attention to the point where my friend had to explain to him that I didn't understand.

The server then opened a bottle without giving us any choices & it turned out to be something that we didn't enjoy. We felt bad but he had already started opening the bottle as he was talking. He was polite about changing it, but the whole thing felt awkward. The next wine was better but a rather pedestrian choice.

Then came the food situation. We were told we had to order food (which we understood might be a licensing thing), & we were fine with that. We mentally prepared to force food down even though we were stuffed but then… nothing. For over about 90 mins no one came back to take an order. By the time the server finally dropped the food menu on the side & insisted we order food, we were on our last sips of our drinks & honestly didn't feel like sticking around.

The space itself is great but the service was abrupt & chaotic in a way that made us feel uncomfortable - not something I've experienced elsewhere in Montreal. Disappointing, because I really wanted to love this spot. I felt bad convincing everyone to try Mamie when we normally would've just gone to Vinvinvin & had a great time.

Très bonnes bavettes, ambiance agréable. Le génépi est tres bon, le vin au verre était un peu trop froid à mon goût.

Excellente sélection de vins, staff hyper pro & acceuillant, cuisine bistro franche & consistente. Superbe terrasse l'été.

Une adresse à découvrir hors des sentiers touristiques ! Accueil au top, nourriture de très bonne qualité !

Visité en fin de soirée sur la terrasse. Les plats sont bons & même le vin'à la verse' comme ils disent. Par contre les tables dehors sont un peu minimalistes.

Une super place pour prendre un verre, dîner ou luncher en fin de semaine. Le service est génial, comme si on était chez mamie, la sélection de vin au top & les plats succulents ! On adore aussi les kebabs en fin de semaine l'été & leurs supers événements avec des thèmes &/ou des vignerons ! Super vibe :)

Honestly I was reluctant to try this place for a while. The big crowds of people lining up, I didn't get it. Finally tried & I'm very happy I did. The food is not mind blowing, but it's very good. But the highlight is the value. A decent steak frites for $30? 1/2 L of natural wine for 28? You can't find good value like this in Montreal anymore. I now understand why it's a neighbourhood fave.

La cuisine est délicieuse ! L'endroit est chaleureux.
Je conseille vivement ce restaurant, qui a été une superbe découverte ! Je vais y revenir, c'est sûr 🤤🙂
