About

Mamie centers its culinary focus on the production of artisanal charcuterie and elevated comfort food staples. The kitchen emphasizes traditional curing techniques and slow-cooked preparations to create a menu defined by depth and texture. Each dish utilizes carefully sourced proteins and seasonal ingredients to anchor the dining experience in simple, robust flavors. The interior environment balances rustic elements with a clean, functional layout to accommodate focused interactions centered around the food. Patrons engage with a selection of house-made preparations that prioritize quality over ornamental plating styles. Review Summary

Mamie is widely celebrated as a charming neighborhood gem, praised for its cozy, authentic atmosphere and an impressive selection of wines, including convenient options on tap. Guests frequently highlight the excellent value of the menu, noting the high quality of charcuterie boards, perfectly cooked steak frites, and standout desserts like the mille-feuille and chocolate mousse. The patio is consistently described as a beautiful spot for summer dining, and while the experience is generally characterized by warm, professional service and a welcoming vibe that feels like home, some visitors have occasionally encountered inconsistent pacing or service hurdles during busier periods. Overall, it remains a favorite destination for those seeking a relaxed bistro experience with delicious, straightforward food and a great drink selection.

My partner & I decided to go out the other night & were unfortunately met with quite an unpleasant experience. When we first arrived it was rather busy so it took a bit to get seated which is fine but then after we waited around 15 minutes to just get a menu & then even longer to order. The drinks were fine but nothing exceptional. To eat I ordered the flank steak which was under salted as well as the fries. & the steak had an unpleasant gasoline flavor probably as a result of bad temperature control of fat when cooking causing a flare up. Not to mention until halfway through eating we hadn't even been given water yet, so I had to ask for some myself. For dessert we shared the chocolate mousse which was fine except I found a weird gelatinous like glob likely from undissolved gelatin or unwhipped egg white & a chunk of not completely melted chocolate.

The worst part came when I asked for the bill. For the first time in the evening the server tried to engage with us by asking if we are tourists to which we responded no we actually live in Montréal. He then accused us of why we don't speak French. This could have been playful banter but given this was the first time he talked to us we didn't feel the rapport yet to joke around, & also the rude assumption that we do are tourists since we don't speak French. The irony is also I do speak French.

Overall the drinks & food were okay but the service was quite poor, & our final interaction left us with a very unpleasant feeling. Unfortunate as I had visited with my father before & had rather lovely experience & wanted go share this with my partner which clearly did not go as planned.

Came here for a friends bday & very nice spot! The menu is quite selected, more snack than meals. We ended up sharing La planche du chef, which is suggest to be for 4 people, & I would say that portion makes sense! We essentially were able to sample the whole menu with it. The steak & leeks were my favourite!
They have a good selection of wine & have wine on tap for pretty good prices, however it's not the best wine ever but price point ratio very good (acidic wine).
Atmosphere is cute however the classic high tables with bar stools aren't the most comfortable. Server was very nice! Only thing a bit frustrating is they have the menu written on a chalkboard that the waiter brings to explain (explained very well) but I prefer being able to hold a menu & look it over.
I would come back!

Honestly I was reluctant to try this place for a while. The big crowds of people lining up, I didn't get it. Finally tried & I'm very happy I did. The food is not mind blowing, but it's very good. But the highlight is the value. A decent steak frites for $30? 1/2 L of natural wine for 28? You can't find good value like this in Montreal anymore. I now understand why it's a neighbourhood fave.

Steak, especially the tomahawk is a must try & their wine selection cannot go wrong with it

Escargots & steak frites. The guanciale on the escargots stole the show. The steak was good but could have been a bit bigger & a touch more salt. Fries were nice.

I had an incredible dining experience! The meal started with escargots paired with guanciale, which was rich & savory, followed by a beet salad with creamy goat cheese that perfectly balanced freshness & tang. The clams, though not the standout of the night, were still enjoyable. The highlight, however, was the steak frites-tender, flavorful, & cooked to perfection. The impeccable service, thanks to our attentive & knowledgeable server Sam, made the evening even better. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience & will definitely be returning many more times!

Had a delightful date night at Mamie. Vibe, food, & service were all top-notch. I highly recommend the ravioli, chimichurri cauliflower, & hanger steak, but save some room for the chocolate mousse if you can -- decadence perfected. Special callout to our waiter Sam who brought humor, warmth, & knowledge to the occasion. His recommendations were faultless & his service, impeccable. We'll be back again soon. Just a fantastic experience from start to finish.

Super fast service. Great host. Food was delicious. We had 1 serving of sweatbread, one serving of ancestral tomatoes, one serving of bar crudo, one serving of onglet steak & 2 serving of snails for 3 people. The snails were so good we had to get more before dessert. I'd give a solid 4.5/5 ⭐️ if possible.
