Food is very solid
Respectable
Strong points are the service & vibe!
Wait staff are kind
Our table of 12 was delayed so they kindly offered us a bottle of vodka! We really appreciated it.
We had a birthday & staff was helpful to bring out a nice cake.
A great spot for dinner with friendsView more
Average at best, some dish were not so great & others were good. We took the fish of the day, lobster spaghetti & octopus out of the 3, the fish was the best. We also had entriees, same thing, the rice cake, focaccia & oysters some were ok & oysters tasted frozen. Overall good mix of good to bad. Service hard to follow. If I could put 3.5, that would be more acurate.View more
My husband & I got the rice cakes & the sea bass to share. Everything was fantastic. We asked to be seated in Arthur's section after reading the Google reviews, he's a manager now & came to say hi, extremely friendly & kind fellow. He even took pictures of us when we asked!View more
A super nice spot in Montreal center. The vibe of the place was a moody & dim with the perfect combination of lightly dim areas. The decor is to die for. The staff & service were extremely nice & the food was something else. I recommend the rice cake tuna tartare as a starter. I took the burger as a main, & despite it not being the easiest to eat it was absolutely worth it. Definitely would repeat.View more
Amazing night at Makro for my birthday. What a delightful & delicious evening. Every meal was served well & hot. Everything was perfect. They even brought out cake. Thank you to the hard working staff & everyone that made tonight so special. Will be back more often.View more
We thoroughly enjoyed our surf & turf & roasted beet side & baratta appetizer. The seafood & rib eye were cooked to perfection. The in-house steak sauce condiments were all delicious. The BBQ one reminded me of the Peter Luger steak sauce back in NYC. Coffee was delicious, as was the carrot cake. Service was also attentive & friendly. Unfortunately we will not return even though we live in Griffintown, as the music- which was extremely bass heavy & loud, was unbearable.
We had a terrible experience last Friday night at Makro (Friday August 14th 2020). One of the bus boys was not wearing his mask at all on his face, but rather on his chin. Given the current pandemic situation this was not appropriate. My younger cousin was incredibly uncomfortable with it but was trying her best to keep any comments to herself, despite the blatant breach of Quebec requirements. In an unbelievable turn of events, he came over to our table & instigated a confrontation, targeting her & asking "do you have a problem with me? Do you want to say something to me?" At this point we felt it appropriate to ask him to wear his mask, & his response was pretending not to understand us. He left the table without putting his mask on & was standing in the middle of the restaurant dancing by himself. We spoke to our waitress who was understanding & apologized & spoke to the bus boy. Once we were ready to leave, the bus boy came up to us & said "You have a problem with me, I am kicking you out" all while not wearing a mask. He then instigated the potential of a physical altercation with another member of our party.
This is completely unacceptable in any restaurant but, was truly unbelievable for one of this "alleged" calibre. It goes without saying our party of 6 will never even consider returning. They clearly do not take their patrons safety seriously & are more concerned with having their own party when they should be working & ensuring customer safety & experience.
Onto the food review: the lamb shanks were delicious, & the tuna rice cakes were excellent. However, the scallop dish was seasoned with taco seasoning, which completely overpowered the dish.
