Review Summary

Maison Kam Fung draws crowds with authentic Hong Kong style dim sum and a wide range of dishes, offering generous portions and good value that make it a go-to spot for family lunches and group dining. Carts circulate and food can also be ordered directly from staff, which helps some guests get hot dishes quickly, though during peak hours service can feel rushed and some staff appear hurried or not very polite. The ambiance is lively and bustling, with a large dining room and a rotating cart system that adds to the experience, while language barriers and occasional mixed service leave some guests feeling overlooked. Dishes praised include fresh steamed fish, braised eggplant with pork and shrimp, a variety of dumplings, fried lobster, soups, and Cantonese classics with several reviews calling the portions generous and ideal for sharing. The restaurant is described as family friendly and a solid value, though a few reports note longer waits during peak times and occasional inconsistency in the pacing of service or attentiveness, especially during lunch or weekends. Overall, it remains a popular and dependable spot for authentic dim sum and Cantonese cooking in the area, celebrated for its breadth and flavor even as guests hope for smoother, more consistent service.

This is your typical hong Kong style dimsum restaurant. You dont order from menu but rather there are waitresses pushing around carts full of food & when they get to you, you tell them if you want it or not. The prices are calculated by size ( S,M,L ). Overall, the taste of everything is pretty traditional & theres nothing too special about it. We ordered egg tarts, fried taro balls, ??, ??, ???, & friend squid tentacles. The egg tarts & changfen were the best. I highly recommend the changfen. We went on a random Tuesday & there were so many people, so I can say that this place is quite popular. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for dimsum near montreal.

Got here right at open at 10am. First food cart didn't roll out of the kitchen till 10:30. It's now 11:15 & half the traditional dishes one would expect to be on offer have not surfaced on any cart. In the first hour here there have been no green vegetables, no turnip cake, no taro dumpling, no steamed bbq pork buns, no crab of any kind. Quite the let down. In all the cities I have had Dimsum the meal is a rapid attack of food & it doesn't need to be a 2 hour dining experience. I requested the items above & the server told would come later. How long must a person be here to have the full dim sum experience? The plus side here is that the food was wonderful.

Nice place. We went for dimsum. It is a very big place & seems to be popular with the local Chinese. Food was good. Cannot speak to cost since we were a guest.

Went for a relative's banquet dinner. Portions are huge, proportions of seafood in each dish was ample, flavours were perfectly seasoned (though e-noodles could've used more salt). Always reliable for these types of dinners, though I haven't been there for dimsum in a long time, as I don't live on the shore.
