Restaurant Maison Indian Curry, located in Parc-Extension, offers both North and South authentic Indian cuisine. South Indian cuisine is rice based. Rice is combined with lentils to make wonderful dosas, idlis and vadas. These items are glorious and delicious besides being nourishing and digestible. The South Indian food is a brilliant blend of flavors, colors, seasoning (a little hotter than North India food), nutritional balance, fragrance, taste, and visual appeal. A typical North Indian meal would consist of chappatis or parantha (unleavened flat breads), pilafs, dals, curries all seasoned with fresh ingredients. Tandoori cooking is a north Indian specialty and famous all over the world. Tandoori chicken, naan, tandoori kebabs and shrimps are a hit at Maison Indian Curry (Indian Curry House). The Masala dosa(Indian crêpe made by stuffing a dosa with a lightly cooked filling of potatoes, fried onions and spices) is also amongst the best in Montreal. The authentic food, friendly service and cozy ambiance will have you going back to Maison Indian Curry on a regular basis.
Reviews describe Maison Indian Curry House as offering authentic Indian flavors with generous portions at very reasonable prices, a vibe that is warm and welcoming, and service that is generally friendly and efficient. The menu earns praise for staples like butter chicken, korma, paneer, naan and a variety of curries, with many noting strong value whether dining in or ordering takeout, while also highlighting a cozy dining room and a bustling atmosphere, though a few reviews point to occasional inconsistencies in quality, heavy spice levels, or disturbances during service and some deliveries tasting a bit lacking.
Our favorite indian restaurant. STRENGTHS Butter chicken Channa masala Veggie pakora Lamb vindaloo & madrasi Mango lassi Fresh baked naan A bunch of other meals are good too Of course, pricing is very affordable (about $25 per person but we have a big appetite & order a lot) WEAKNESSES Fish pakora (dry) Malai kofta (not bad, sauce a bit too thick & heavy) Some servers hardly speak english None of those weaknesses are dealbreakers, you can work around it. They're all very sweet & I'm happy to support them. I've tried all the others in the vicinity & this is our favorite for our favorite meals we listed. We come often.
Loved the staff, nice waitresses. The food came very quick & was super tasty. Also loved the cutlery & glasses, kept the water super fresh compared to glass.
Food was Average & not up to my expectations from an Indian Restaurant!! The server's were confused multiple times & were serving food for wrong Tables. The Samosas & Garlic Naan were kind OK but the Paneer were sturdy & or undercooked & out of taste. We ordered Shahi Paneer, Butter & Garlic Naan, Gulab Jamoon, Samosas. Kid's didn't like the Taste & wouldn't order more . Most importantly the Owner/ Cashier was starting at us for no reason , seemed unhappy/didn't want to be there & was very unfriendly during the checkout process .
Excellent, c'est première fois, j'ai mangé la maison spéciale $22 c'est assez pour 2personnes , le jus de mangue c'est très bon, bière aussi bon. La serveuse toujours souriante, la prochaine fois je veux essayer poulet au beurre.
The North Indian Food is really great & a bit pricey, but it's Definitely worth the price. The restaurant was crowded yet they served everyone in a timely manner.
We were a few to go to the restaurant, had fish pakora, a chicken curry thali, chicken Dosa & a Mango Lassi. The food was delicious, service was fast & a lot of seating space.
