Welcome to The House of Jazz (Maison du Jazz) in Laval! Our Montreal location has been a landmark of entertainment, cuisine, and history. Built by French Montrealer Georges Durst, House of Jazz has been a home to Canada’s finest Jazz musicians since 1981. Now we invite you to take a tour of the House of Jazz in Laval and discover the many facets of this entertainment haven.

Our private room "Bijou" is located upstairs in the Monte Carlo / VIP area and is available for groups of up to 10 people.

Super accueil & très bonne communication lors de ma réservation avec Alexandre.
Nous avons été unanimes, l'attention d'Alexandre & de Marilou était remarquable. Nous étions 24 convives au 2e étages pour les 80 ans de notre père. Plusieurs personnes avaient des intolérance & problème de santé. Alexandre a pris le temps d'expliquer les processus, traitement de la nourriture & présenté les options envisageables.
Tous se sont déhanchés, toujours au 2e. Un service sans défaut dans une ambiance festive.

1ere visite à ce resto 25 juillet 2025. Déco kitsch qui nous fait voyager dans le temps. Bel accueil, délicieux cocktail, service au bar impeccable pour la boisson.
Service laissant à désirer à la table. Nous sommes au 1er service donc on doit quitter à 19h45. Reçu entrée à 18h15 (dans un temps respectable) & ensuite très longue attente jusqu'à 19h30 pour recevoir les 2 plats principaux sans aucune excuse ou explication & recevoir la facture 2 min après alors que nous devions quitter la table à 19h45 pour les gens du 2e service!
Je demande une légère compensation car manger le tout en 15 min ce n'est pas du tout agréable. Total refus de la part de la serveuse en mentionnant que ce fut la faute à la cuisine.
Ce n'est sûrement pas mon tartare de saumon qui a mis du temps à cuire!

J allais avec amis(6) pour voir chanteuse Michelle Sweeney.
Malheureusement j ai trouvé un manque de générosité de sa part. Peut être c était une mauvaise journée. 🤷?♀?
Attention: les frais de spectacle ($15 pp) sont taxables & inclus sur la facture donc à savoir pour le pourboire.

Went on july 6th for my bday ! I enjoyed my dinner. I love all types of music & performances so I was in my element! But this is not a place where you can invite anyone , especially if they are not fond of jazz or open minded... The food was ok. The drink was ok . Be careful with the 15$ band charge, they charge for each guests & that doesn't even cover the tips... In this economy, its a lil bit excessive for a none gastronomic restaurant. & restaurants with bands there's plenty like that in mtl & they dont charge for bands... Anyway, its a restaurant for special occasions but I'm not going to attend regularly... Nonetheless, I had fun!! The decor was amazing !!

Magnifique soirée, atmosphère très agréable , repas très bon & chaud sans attente . Les chanteuses Leticia Jimenez & Venus B. des deux parties & orchestre de qualités mais surtout un service impeccable, courtois avec Valérie de belles suggestions.
Merci note parfaite pour une belle soirée réussie .

The ambiance was nice plus the service was fairly quick. The food was not superb, we got the brisket but it came out a bit too salty for our liking. Overall a good place for listening to some Jazz & sipping on a bottle of wine.

A live show is the ultimate entertainment, there's no debate here. But if you're going to offer it in a restaurant setting, you better step it up a notch.
We saw Derek Fall it they were pretty solid! Very entertaining, engaging, diversified. More a all-rounder than blues per se but still excellent! The sax player stole the show & we even had a 8 years old little girl play the piano with them!! That was really something!
Menu offer is good (although has it's aberrations) but execution lacks a bit. Mussels in the jambalaya are sketchy (traces of dry & old meat in the shell). Wagyu ground beef? Give me a break! Pasta are bland, need to ask for salt (which took a while, friend's meal was cold by the time it came). Tartare was warm, that's scary!
Prices are steep : 1$ per calamari bite, 10$ domestic beer, 15$ glass of wine... Over the show surcharge (15$ in the main room). 2 person meal + alcool is over 250. I have no issue paying for the show, but you can't charge twice (explicitly + higher food price). I honestly expected to be treated better for those figures. Which brings us to service...
Service is where we have a real issue. At the end of the meal, 3½ hours after sitting down, the empty glasses from pre-dinner aperitif were still on the table. Along the whole meal plates & drinkware.
The waitress, who didn't seem to want to be there that night, only came to us every 45 minutes or so & made mistakes on the orders & bills. We ended up walking up to the bar to place drinks order on multiple occasions. It felt it was our responsibility to make sure we had enough to drink.
She could have easily sold twice as much drinks if she visited more often. Didn't offer coffee & brought the bills before we were done. Also brought the cake without plates or cutlery. & then openly complained about the poor tip she got.
Since I was the one organizing the group for a birthday, I wanted to pay for everybody's'show fee' but never had the chance to tell the staff. Bills came too quickly.
Not sure I'll visit again. Maybe in the bar section, seemed a more proper option.
