We ordered a soondubu jjigae & kimchi jjiggae. Taste-wise- it was great except the tofu in both stews had gone bad. The portion size is also very little, the kimchi stew barely had any kimchi. The soondubu had maybe 3-4 pieces of seafood. Other wise, service & vibe were great.View more

The place looks sketchy at first because of the staircase but the inside is cozy & good service. We took a fried rice skewer which was very delicious. The kimchi soup lost some points because of the taste, not spicy enough. We also took a beef japchae which was very flavorful but there wasn't enough beef, only like 6-7 pieces. However, will definitely come back to try other dishes.View more

i ordered the dukmanduguk & it was disappointing to see that there were very few pieces of rice cake(duk) inside the soup. The consistency was not very thick & was lacking flavour all around. However the banchan is ok but there is a fee for kimchi which puzzles me as I have never had to pay for side dishes. My last experience was better however this time was a little sad.View more

Bibimbap was excellent as well as the kimchi pork stir fry. Will come back again for sure. I love that they also offer bibimbap in two types of bowls. One in dolsot (hot) & in stainless bowl (cold, which I prefer.. most Koreans do I feel)View more

Tasty bulgogi sizzling hot, broccoli was not fully cooked (but that is a minor quibble), dumplings were great, homemade kimchi not too spicy & delicious.View more

Chez Bong j'y suis aller pour la première fois il y a 10 ans. Chaque trip à Montréal incluais au moins un stop dans ce restaurant. Maintenant que je suis déménager dans le coin, je suis contente de voir que cet endroit est toujours aussi bon, que le service sois toujours aussi chaleureux & que le kimchi est toujours aussi savoureux!View more

By Montreal standards, this is a capable Korean restaurant (tasty food, serious execution but do not expect fancy modern take of Korean fares, they apply themselves to be homey/traditional but of course, with local ingredients, therefore do not try to compare what is done here to what is done in Asia / at least they try to get as close as possible to that standard), indeed. Their kimchi particularly well done in view of what I came to expect from Korean restaurants in Montreal.
