Review Summary

Guests consistently praise Maggie Oakes for superb service, attentive staff, and a warm, elegant atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. The kitchen earns high marks for dry aged steaks, tender beef, lobster and sesame crusted salmon, with sides like truffle mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables that complement the dishes beautifully. Brunch and breakfast are much loved, featuring generous portions, thoughtful timing, and memorable options, while cocktails and wine selections guided by knowledgeable staff enhance the experience. The setting in Old Montreal, including a lively terrace and central lounge, provides a refined yet welcoming backdrop for celebrations, business dinners, or casual dining with friends and family. Despite premium pricing, many guests consider the overall value, quality, and service to be well worth it. The team consistently handles special requests, allergies, and group meals with grace, leaving visitors eager to return.

We had the Kentucky Cut for two & it was incredible! Shrimp Cocktail & Burrata were also delicious. Highly Recommended.

Me & my friends visited Maggie Oakes at the recommendation of a local while visiting Montreal & I am SO HAPPY we went. All 8 of us left were so pleased with our experience! The food was incredible - the lobster pappardelle was to die for, others at the table got steak & burgers & were also very happy with their meals. The ceviche & prosciutto pizza were also delicious. The most stand-out thing about this restaurant though was definitely the service. The service here rivaled that of Michelin star restaurants i've been to. Our waitress was very attentive to our table, her drink recommendations were all so good, we had multiple people servicing our table, making sure we had water, providing fresh utensils, cleaning the table between dishes, etc. Not once did we have to wait for/ask to order, get water, etc. She was incredibly sweet, along with all the other staff. I'd highly recommend Maggie Oakes to anyone visiting Old Montreal. The quality of the food & service will blow you away!!

Lovely place to have a bite to eat & drink right in Old Port. John especially was a wonderful gentleman. Sabrina B is an excellent sever as well. Highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area. The Caesar salad is to die for.

We came on a very busy Sunday morning for brunch. The staff, especially Samuel, was professional, & courteous. They had gluten free bread for all orders (no extra cost), but I would not say it's celiac friendly as I was not notified that my fries were in the same fryer until my plate arrived. That being said, the staff was amazing, the food was great, coffee was great, etc. highly recommend!

Exceptional Service & Fresh Food at Maggie Oakes! This was our second visit to Maggie Oakes (426 Pl. Jacques-Cartier, Montréal), & it happened to be on our anniversary! We didn't make a reservation, but the staff were accommodating & welcoming. The food was incredibly fresh & delicious! The service was attentive, prompt, & went above & beyond. One memorable moment that stood out was when we accidentally dropped a spoon, & a staff member (unfortunately, I didn't catch his name) quickly replaced it for us from a distance. What impressed us even more was that he said, "I heard you from afar & knew you'd need a new one!" This small gesture speaks volumes about the exceptional service at Maggie Oakes. The staff's attention to detail & anticipation of our needs made us feel truly valued. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! The combination of fresh food & outstanding service makes it a must-visit destination. We'll definitely be back!

We have visited this restaurant several times, & our first experience was truly memorable. It was a delightful occasion as we celebrated a special two-person dinner. The food was exceptionally delicious, & the ambiance was unique & charming. I highly recommend.

I had brunch here, & really enjoyed the atmosphere. The serving staff were all super friendly & helpful picking between two items when I was indecisive. I really enjoyed the Avocado toast I had, one of the very best. The only disappointing item I had was the Earl Grey Mocktail, which wasn't terrible, just not 10$ good for a non-alcoholic drink. Highly recommend going here for a lovely meal.

Overall, we had a great experience. We stopped by for a quick cocktail & lite lunch. The atmosphere was nice, bar service was fantastic, & the food tasted wonderful. Highly recommend the onion soup.

Great place to go to brunch, good food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff & amazing service. Not to mention, it's kid-friendly. In terms of food, I had the mushroom omlette, with extra ham on the side. Omlette, potatoes & bread were really good. The only slight disappointment came from the amount of fruit that came with the plate. I didn't expect a bowl or anything but it wasn't much. Overall great experience, I highly recommend it.

I recently enjoyed a delightful evening at Maggie Oakes, & it truly exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was sophisticated, the service impeccable, & the presentation of each dish was a work of art. The menu showcased a variety of culinary masterpieces, & the flavors were nothing short of exceptional. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is a minor detail in the pacing of the courses. Nonetheless, Maggie Oakes is a top-notch fine dining destination that I highly recommend for a special night out.

This is my first review ever. We had the best time. Staff was amazing. We had the salmon tartare & the beef tartare for apps...outstanding. I have the filet mignon & my husband had the Kansas cut...we could not describe the taste of the 45 day aged beef adequately... but absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Will do this again when in Montreal.

A couple of weeks ago a girlfriend & I went to eat at Maggie Oakes for dinner. We started our night at the lobby bar where Camillo made us delicious cocktails. We then we're escorted to our table where we had huge oysters & spicy margaritas. Our server Geoffroy was very friendly & knowledgeable. He recommeded the beef tartare & nougat as starters which were bothe delicious. For our mains we shared the aged rib steak & got a flawless bottle of wine that was recommended by sommelier Mr. Hy. Overall warm & friendly staff & great food. A must in the old port ! Highly recommend.
