thai(132) soup(55) noodle(42) pad thai(32) chicken(32) rice(26) recommend(19) authentic(18) tea(18) yum(18) beef(15) dishes(13)I always love this place whenever I go. I highly recommend the pad thai, pad see ew, & green curry. The green curry is my absolute favourite!
The waitress recommended Braised beef noodle to me. It's delicious with extremely strong flavours. Quite oily & heavy to me, but I still think it's good. Little bit dehydrated after eating this, but if you're looking for something strong & full of umami & spices, this is your go-to!
I tried Tom Yum noodles that had one spicy mark out of four. It was good.
I've been to Mae Sri in Downtown twice, & I've tried both Pad Thai & Tom Yum noodles. The Tom Yum noodles in Downtown had three spicy marks out of four.
I think they use different recipes.
Our fav Thai restaurant in mtl! We come here for almost every date night ;)
Love the food but the portion size is way too small compared to other similar Thai restaurants
The pad see eww portion is way too small for even one person
Nous avons pris une soupe au boeuf braisé délicieuse & copieuse. Nous recommandons ce petit resto à l'accueil très chaleureux.
The food at this Thai restaurant was good, though not particularly surprising or memorable. The service was friendly & attentive, & the atmosphere was quiet & pleasant, great for a peaceful meal. The only downside is the location; it's not close to any metro station, which makes it a bit inconvenient to get to. Overall, a decent experience if you're nearby.
The braised beef soup was very good. I had to ask them for the spice rack. When they initially opened they would always give it to you.
Fantastic lunch at a great spot, we asked for extra spicy (Thai level spice) & they delivered. Lots of variety on the menu so my girlfriend & I ordered several dishes each. Great relaxed atmosphere with a friendly & approachable staff - what more can you ask for other than great food, fast!
Don't come here for the Hainan Chiken Steamed Rice! It doesn't deserve $20 at all.
The chicken is too little, with enough rice to make you feel full. The making of chicken is also not classic enough.
Very beautiful decor, toilets could use a little fresh up. The food was very average especially for the price, but the thai tea & green tea with condensed milk were delicious. We ordered the baa mee moo soup & specifically asked for not spicy for my partner (on the menu it said not spicy too), yet it was still spicy. We told the server & she said it was the pepper...You shouldn't treat customers like idiots, I eat spicy food & I know the spice was not from the pepper...we could even see the chili flakes on the broth. We were taken aback by that treatment & the lack of enthusiasm in general from the staff
That is the most authentic Thai food I have ever experienced in Quebec. As a person who had lived in Thai,I can say Pad Kra Pao is my favourite all time of this place💕💕& the papaya salad is exactly the same taste. But rice is sometimes undercooked in khao Man Gai steamed chicken. But overall is great 👍
Good place ive had more authentic Thai food the menu is small & its kinda weird to have to order before sitting down kinda like st a school cafeteria but the food is good.
An excellent service, amazing tasty food, very reasonable pricing. The seasonal fruit with sticky coconut rice is a must try
The restaurant charges each person one dollar if you bring outside food to eat…& I appreciate how the restaurant legally charges customer extra small symbolic fee to notify my inappropriate manner!
The food is just bad & portion is small. But I tried to be objective, giving the restaurant two stars rather than judging it like other one star comment.
Mae Sri Comptoir Thai in Montreal has a charming, intimate ambiance, but our recent visit had a rough start. Arriving around noon, about 30 minutes after opening, we were met with an unpleasant sewage-like odor in the restaurant that lingered throughout our meal, unfortunately detracting from the overall atmosphere.
The QR code for the menu wasn't working, though the server quickly offered to airdrop it, which was a nice, tech-savvy workaround. Our food arrived promptly, & prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. The Pad See Ew noodles were served a bit more al dente than we prefer. The dry noodle dishes had a flavor profile that leaned milder than traditional - not as savoury as they traditionally are. The papaya salad could have used a little more zest as well, but the Thai iced tea was refreshing & enjoyable.
Overall, Mae Sri Comptoir Thai is decent, with fair pricing & good service, but it may not be our top pick for Thai food in Montreal.
