You're a chicken shop come on do better!
My first time there. They have Portuguese chicken. Very tasty. It's not that kind of fancy restaurants. However, if you like busy places you will enjoy the ambiance.
Long lines but it goes fast. Only 1 clean bathroom stall, gender neutral.
Petite poutine (no. 8 - chicken, chorizo, gravy, cheese, with fries) is perfect amount for one person. Love how the fries are still crunchy with the huge amount of tasty gravy & cheese. The chicken is tender & juicy (no dry bits). Wasn't a huge fan of the chorizo but still tasted good.
Love the huge amount of toppings. With just the right amount of salt.
Service is fast & polite.
Checked out this place with a few friends & it was good! Late afternoon lunch, was still quite busy. Ordered half chicken with rice & salad, which was a large portion & had pretty good flavour. Also ordered a poutine, which was a large portion as well. Overall, the food was good, just a bit on the saltier side. Would recommend if your in the area if your looking for large portions & best value for your dollar. Check them out!
I wasn't expecting much about this restaurant but when I tried the food I understood the reason of the long line! So be prepared to spend some time on the line, however, once you order it goes very fast. The chicken is perfectly cooked, they add a sauce of the house which is very tasty, the size of the portion is extremely generous, 2 people can it with it for under $20! The service is great, bring some cash with you to tip them, since they don't ask for tips when you pay, but they really deserve it! They also have a stan with many Portuguese desserts, I tried the pastel de nata which was delicious. The places is a bit small so there's no many places available to seat, although people don't spend much time there so tables empty quite fast, I definitely recommend it & would keep going there!
Ma Poule Mouillée was my first stop for poutine on my first trip to Montreal, & it was a great introduction to this Canadian classic. I'd heard it was one of the best places in the city. Since this was my first time trying poutine, I can't say whether it's truly the best-but it definitely set the bar high.
We ordered the Portuguese-style poutine with BBQ chicken & chorizo. The chicken was juicy & flavorful, reminding me a little of Nando's, while the fries, cheese curds, & gravy came together into a rich & satisfying meal. The chorizo was good, but next time I'd order it with only the BBQ chicken so I could enjoy that flavor even more.
The portions are enormous-one order can easily feed two people, or even three if you're not very hungry. There is seating available, but it also works perfectly as a grab-&-go spot. You can take your food to the park nearby & enjoy it outside.
The staff were lovely, & the whole experience was enjoyable. I'll definitely return on my next trip to Montreal to try the chicken-only version.
My favorite chicken in Montreal. Very good & well seasoned chicken. I recommend the full chicken & seasoned small potatoes (better than fries) if you are 3-4 people. The chicken poutin was also good. Only a few tables & chairs so can be difficult if you want to sit down & eat at the restaurant.
