This is one of the best places in Montreal for portugese chicken, not comparable to Rama*os. Also, the poutine is much better than the specialized place across the street. The only negative is that it gets very busy but completely understandable.View more

Only tried the poutine & a pastel de nata here. Poutine was rich, salty, & satisfying. The chicken inside was excellent & tender. Pastel was surprisingly still crispy despite being refrigerated.View more

We got a small poutine & small flan au caramel. A lot of Portuguese chicken, chorizo & cheese curbs in the poutine, more than fries. Not easy to find parking in Plateau Mont-Royal so we ate at a nearby park. Small poutine is 13$. For 5$ more, you can get a large one which is twice the size but a small one is plenty for 2 persons. 3,50$ for the flan. Must try in Montreal. Forgot to take a picture before eating. Poutine was filled to the top.View more

Overly rated. Chicken is okay, but not great. They gave you a whole bunch of fries, more than you can eat, but all soft since they packed them into a box. The price is good & the portions are huge, not worthy of the wait though.View more

We stopped by Ma Poule Mouillée for lunch during a day in Montreal. We ordered the #8 poutine dish & asked for it spicy (large order). Service was fairly quick & seating was available (offseason, after prime lunch hours). The dish was served in a tin container with a covered top so you can take it on the go if you wish. The serving size was more than enough for two people. The temperature of the food was okay. For it being prepared right there, I was expecting the food to be hotter than it was. It was just warm & the cheese wasn't all melted very much. The flavor of the chicken & chorizo in the gravy was great! I wish there had been more of it mixed in to the dish. Overall, it was good, but a few things could have made it much better! Still worth a try if you're in the area.View more

Great place for portuguese chicken, wish I had room to try their poutine (apparently it's very good). I'll have to come back soon to try it. There'a a door to enter & one to exit, you order near the grill, there'a 3 holes to speak with the staff. They offer desserts & bread (so that you can soak up the juices & sauce). During summer, you can take out & bring it to the big park nearby & have a picnic.View more

As close as Mom's roasted chicken . Sauce amazing. Bread to due for. Would be nice , just to have a smile from staff. Don't let that stop you, go for the drive & eat great spicy Portuguese chicken & take home some fresh bread. You'll go back Food AmazingView more

The poutine at Ma Poule Mouillée is one of the best I have ever had - starting with a perfect poutine as a base & adding Portuguese chicken & chorizo cooked over charcoal...can't go wrong. There is a LOT going on but it is a great balance of everything. At $14 the small is PLENTY of food for one person & an incredible value for the amount of meats they put on. I have also tried a few of their baked goods (natas, flan, croissant) & always been impressed.View more

I think it is the best poutine i've ever had, the reason being only 4 stars is because I wish the fries are warmer. BUT THE CHICKEN IS SO SO SO DELICIOUS. I absolutely recommend it to everyone. If you are going with another friend. I recommend getting the large size. It is plenty for two. Even might have leftovers, despite I literally cannot stop eating it.View more

We had a bit of a food tour while in Montreal for the night & Ma Poule Mouillee ended up being our favorite meal. It was our first bifana sandwich & it won't be our last. Service was fast & prices were fair for the size of the sandwiches. The restaurant smells incredible & the staff is friendly & helpful. We were both blown away at the flavor of the chicken sandwich & the pork sandwich & will definitely return for another round when we visit Montreal again.View more

The quantity of food is significant ! The "small" poutine is huge & very tasty. It can last you two meals easily. The chicken pieces within the poutine make an excellent combo. However, it can get crowded during busy evenings so be prepared to line up!View more

The only reason you'd go to La Banquise is if Ma Poule Mouillée is closed. Their Portuguese poutine will absolutely blow your mind. There is just nothing like it. It is absolutely LOADED with roasted chicken & chorizo. Fries & cheese are of course top class, & the sauce has a little twist that pairs so well with the rest. Do yourself a favour, skip the other subpar poutine places & go to Ma Poule Mouillée instead. You'll thank me later.View more
