Display Allpoutine(225) chicken(222) poulet(103) portuguese(68) chorizo(52) sauce(45) prix(39) fries(37) portugais(29)The chicken is pretty tasty if you're lucky enough to get it when it's cooked properly. The level of doneness varies day to day. Sometimes you'll get barely cooked rubbery, next time it's over cooked & dry. The service is very very slow. I've been there 4-5 times over the years & I've driven by the place probably 20 times because I will not stand in line for an hour or more for a piece of chicken. It's not that good. Good luck finding a place to park too. There's so many great places to eat in Montreal without the hassle of this place.View more
Drool-worthy chicken. Totally worth the line-up & the hype.View more
Super generous portion of poutine, think it can be shared among two, maybe even three people if you're not starving & just want a snack. Chicken was very tender & tasty! We ordered ahead on the phone so didn't need to wait on the line outside. There's a separate one for that inside but it's not 100% clear so we ended up confirming with the kind cashier inside upon arrival in case anyone wants to go that route. Not sure if this always happens when you order ahead but by the time we got there (like 20 min later) we still had to wait a little as they didn't make it yet, understandably since they seemed to be extremely busy, but the benefit is that the dish was fresh!View more
The Portuguese chicken poutine is ridiculous. The small/petite is enough to split between 2 people. There is a long line but it moves quickly. The staff are nice. The interior is loud.View more
The chicken was delicious! Portions are generous! What a wonderful value! Please don't hesitate to try it out if you're in the mood for portugese style chicken! Can easily recommend! 😊View more
Only ordered the poutine with the whole fixings, their grilled chicken & sausage. It was definitely better than some other poutines I've had, so there's that. I really liked how the sausage has a bit of spice to it. I think poutine needs spice. Delicious! The small is $14, & is MORE than enough for two people.View more
Hands down the best chicken I've ever had. Both times i visited the lineup was out the door but it moves quickly.View more
1 of the few places left in Montreal that still use charcoal BBQ for grilling the perfectly marinated portuguese chicken 😋 Love it!View more
The poutine was ridiculously big & pretty good. It really all depends on whether you like their sauce, because it was on everything we ordered. You get lots of food & it is pretty good, but there is a line out the door & way too few seats for everyone. & it's very hot inside because they are grilling up the chicken right there & the AC can't keep up with that & all the people. My baby had to sit in my lap because there wasn't a highchair for her, or even a regular chair. I'd recommend taking this to go & ordering less than you think because the portions are huge. Ultimately I was just too hot & cramped to enjoy myselfView more
Get the small! The sizing & portions of food given is HUGE. I got #11 Chorizo & chicken salad -- I really enjoyed the amount of onions given & loads of meat with it. It was a great surprise. My friends got the chorizo & chicken poutine... watching them eat made me full. The dessert was good if you're looking for a sweet treat! Overall great money value for the portions!View more
The poutine with chicken & sausage was absolutely incredible 😲View more
The line was 30 minutes in the afternoon of a Sunday. I expected more for the reviews of the chicken however the sauce was the star of the show of the poutine. The fries kept crispy for a long time. The tables do not get wiped for a while due to how busy they are so I would take the food & eat elsewhere. Would also order the egg tarts!View more
Despite a bit of a wait to get in, it was worth it. The chicken sandwich & poutine were both good. The portions were generous, & the prices were quite reasonable.View more
I've been coming here for years & it's definitely one of our favorite casual spots in town. That being said - the chicken is hit or miss. I came here for Mother's day & the chicken was incredible it was juicy, well seasoned, not overcooked. Everyone in our family raved about it. I came again today to grab food for my family on Father's Day & the chicken was very dry, overcooked & poorly seasoned. Either way the price is right, the employees are friendly & efficient & we will keep supporting them. I highly suggest it to everyoneView more
The poutine here was so, so good. The chicken & chorizo were elite, the cheese curds squeaky, & the fries didn't get soggy with the gravy until over 20 min after. I'd have to come back to get just the chicken too. The egg tarts were really good, comparable to what I've had in Portugal.View more
I've eaten at a lot of chicken places in my life & this is easily one of the best. Beautiful smoky roast chicken with just a little bit of spice, perfect fries what more can you want? The only downside is the ordering system can be a little confusing with them just sliding a number ticket on the counter. It's busy too, but because it's really good!View more
Meilleur poulet, très bons prix ! Best chicken, very good prices!View more
Great portion size & good service. The food was all very flavourful. We ordered the chicken poutine, chicken was so tender & seasoned. The fries were good & good amount of cheese curds. Poutine also had sausage (Chorizo) bits in the plate which didn't have much flavour, borderline dry. It is a nice addition but it does not add much to the dish. We ordered a half chicken meal which came with salad & fries. The chicken was fall off the bone. We could not finish the meal as it was just so much food. Nothing special with the salad, chicken is the star here.View more
Absolutely loved this place. I know a lot of people say that the actual place to go is La Banquise which is across the street from there but after watching many YouTube videos a lot of people had said that this was the more local attracted establishment for poutine. We got the poutine with roasted chicken & smoked sausage. The fries were crispy, the gravy was smooth & tasty, & the cheese curds were on point. The entirety of the flavor of this dish was amazing, & I literally can't wait to get back there the next time I'm in Montreal. Very friendly & helpful staff. I will tell you don't make the mistake that I did, & which I watched a few other people do is don't try to pull the door open, push it open, LOL.View more
Great putine & great Portuguese chicken cook over coal. Also very good pastel de natasView more
Must try their chicken sandwich or their chicken & chorizo poutine. Delish & filling! The long line is worth the wait every time & I've been coming here for years.View more
The chicken is way too salty! The poutine is partially warm & partially cold. Disappointing food despite good service.View more
Worth the hype, personally favour the chorizo more than the chicken but it's all good.View more
Definitely one of the better Portuguese chicken places in Montreal. Many commenters already pointed out the above average portions & affordable prices, almost incredulous but true. Overall very good food for the money.View more
chickens are so juicy & full of flavor! place is so small but it's so charming & welcomingView more
Quick service. Chicken is very nice. Best poutine in town! Portion is also very bigView more
Not nearly as good as advertised. They substituted the chicken breast I ordered without letting me know they were out.View more
