However, the value for money is excellent & staff are nice. Some of the chicken is cartilage / a bit difficult to chew which can be jarring amongst the other soft ingredients & the gravy is a bit too salty.View more
Located in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhood of town, Ma Poulle Mouillée is a very popular, no-frills spot that's as famous for it's insanely long lines & wait times as it is for their succulent Portuguese style chicken. & while trying to get that aforementioned chicken can easily require standing in a line anywhere from 45 minutes to 90 minutes, most loyalists would say that it's absolutely worth the trouble & I would agree. Jean-Jacques Rousseau once said "Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet" & boy was he right. The chicken coming out of this place is absolutely insane. It's full of flavor, it's moist & it is one of the bites of food I've had in a very long time. Depending on what you order, the contents of your box might change a bit but I recommend you get the "Le Tremblay" option for $16CAD which features some chicken breast, a ton of fries & a side salad of greens with shaved carrots in a delicious vinaigrette. Don't share, just chow down in shame. It's greasy, it's tasty & full of flavor. If you're super hungry (you must be American - hi!) you can get other, larger options: ones with chorizo or even befana & while the first is scrumptious, the befana was nothing to write home about & ordering it isn't something I'd do again. Honestly the Tremblay is plenty of food. Service wasn't particularly friendly or fast - but man, it just doesn't matter. Just get in line & you'll be rewarded with a Portuguese feast which shines some spotlight on a cultural piece of Montreal that few other places can showcase as well. A+View more
Cool atmosphere, short line today. Excellent chicken dinner.View more
Best poutine in MTL ever! Charcoal-grilled chicken toppings & sausages tasted crazy. So delicious!!! It was so hot inside while I was waiting. It woule be great if there could have any fan to cool downView more
Delicious poutine! With grilled chicken & sausages!View more
Visited given the publicity & recommendations. Tasty poutine with chicken & chorizo but found it the gravy a bit salty. Grilled chicken was succulent & well seasoned.View more
Best Portuguese chicken in town. Their poutine is also the best.View more
What are you doing in Montreal? Go here! The poutine is great but I think the potatoes they put under the chicken while they roast are even better & the sandwich with spicy sauce is out of this world. I'd be so happy if NYC could snag this guy...View more
Food is top notch, portion is huge, only complain is the place is really hot (summer), imagine eating inside a sauna room. Chicken is so tender, poutine is great although a bit salty probably be cause if the sausage. Salad is better than a lot of higher end restaurants.View more
Went to Ma Poule Mouillée after a couple friends recommended it to me & it definitely did not disappoint! There was a line up when we arrived but it didn't take too long, maybe 10 mins? Ordering was very easy, menu was everywhere & easy to read. Highly recommend anything with the chicken + chorizo sausage! Both taste so good! The only thing is there is not a lot of seating. There is a park nearby if you want to take out & eat there.View more
Consistently the best poutine in Montreal (if you're looking for the OG poutine + chicken & sausage). The sauce is excellent & plenty of cheese. Too bad they don't offer any funky poutines with plenty of extras. They also have some Portuguese desserts at checkout if you've never tried.View more
Since this place is primary take out style we got our food as take out. When we got to our place found out the sauce has leaked out because they did not close the lid properly. Therefore the chicken tasted like any ordinary chicken. Asked for side order of rice but they didn't have & opted for the potatoes which was dry. What i liked was their egg custard tart. Overall this place was not worth the wait & hype.View more
Thicccccccc boy portions & so worth it for the value. Shared it among 3 big growing manz & i wasn't stuffed by any means but def hit the spot. Portuguese chicken on top was juicy juicyyy yum yum. Although, chorizo with the poutine was kind of mid. Fries were freshhhh. First time I went here & I barely dented it when I ate it by myself so 100% should share with at least 1 other person. Will always hit it up anytime I'm back in MTL lezzzz goView more
I ordered the small poutine & ate it at La Fontaine park nearby. I loved the chicken, cheese, & fries, but the chorizo wasn't necessary in my opinion & I wish the gravy wasn't thickened with cornstarch. However this was my first intro into Canadian poutine so I have nothing to compare it with.View more
So far this is the best Portuguese chicken & poutine I've tried in Mtl. The prices are great, especially considering the generous portions. Recommend 100%View more
Food was delicious but they messed up my order multiple times. Poutine has way too much gravy & it made fried saugy. Flavors were great! I would recommend if you want to her a great Poutine but would suggest gravy on the side. Their hot sauce was amazing. Chicken is super juicy.View more
Worth the wait! Best chicken poutine & one of the best poutines in Montreal if not the best. Can't say anything else because the food talks by itself... I wish I could have this poutine at least once a month... & what a chicken! Puff... great chicken taste, also the chicken is five stars taste. Thank you for existing, great food, happy meal the one I just had.View more
Absolutely massive portions, & the best poutine I've had so far. The Portuguese chicken was also delicious.View more
Tried a whole chicken, calamari, salad, & egg tarts. Good portions & they were very good.View more
Quite possibly the best Portuguese chicken in North America. Do yourself a favour & get this goodness inside your belly!View more
The Portuguese poutine is quite large portion. It's with their grilled chicken & sausage. We prefer animal style fries in comparison to poutine. We tried their chicken & Grillé sandwich as well. The food was too salty for us. The croissant was good.View more
The chicken is really tasty Big plate. The sauce is not that spicy. Missing some table to dine in.View more
Great poutine mixed with Portuguese chicken! Plate are big for a reasonable price.View more
This was some of the best chicken I've ever had! The sauce was packed with flavor, the meat was tender & the fries were the perfect compliment. My friend got the poutine & that is a must-try (just be prepared to take a nap after). The portions are HUGE, we could have easily shared an item - we ended up with a lot of leftovers which isn't always a bad thing.View more
Great food, delicious portuguese chicken, great flavor sauce. Customer service could improve.View more
The chicken taste was ok. To be honest it's nothing special. I think Costsco's chicken is better some points. You will regret it if you expect a dramatically different taste."View more
