Ma Poule Mouillée is an absolute staple in Montreal for Portuguese chicken, & it never disappoints! The portions are generous, the flavors are amazing, & the prices are refreshingly reasonable-thank you for staying somewhat affordable in today's world. The place is quite small, so don't expect much seating. We opted for takeout, & it was perfect. One thing to keep in mind is that street parking can be limited at times, so plan accordingly. If you're craving some delicious Portuguese chicken with great value, Ma Poule Mouillée is definitely worth it. Highly recommended!View more

The moment I came inside to restaurant, the smell of the roasting of the chicken made me salivate. I didn't know what to choose because everything looks good. Someone suggested the #8, the Portuguese poutine. It's was delicious! The chicken with choriço, the cheese curds, & sauce were divine. I have to come back & try the rest.View more

Maybe the best chicken in Montreal, definitely the best Portuguese style chicken. Must try the chicken sandwich with salad & fries. Also the poutine is incredible topped with chicken & chorizo. If the weather is nice, take it to go & go eat in the park.View more

Very good value for money as you will get a lot of good. It's flavorful but I find the texture to be too wet. The fries get soggy quickly & the chicken lacks a crisp. Still very good. Tables aren't wiped down regularly on a busy day & seating is very limited.View more

Best Portuguese chicken in town! The food is always fresh, with generous portions at a great price. Their chicken is perfectly cooked, with options for spicy or mild to suit any taste. The chicken sandwiches are loaded with flavor, & the chorizo is smoky, juicy, & a must-try. The combos are a fantastic deal, & the chicken salad meals are fresh & filling. The poutine is absolutely delicious, especially with chicken, chorizo, or a mix of both-it's the perfect comfort food. This spot is always busy for a reason. We wanted to like it as much as everyone raves about it, but it was just good...not great. We were there on a Wed ~12 & we had maybe a 10-15 min wait - & fortunately all waiting inside to order. No line around the block. There is seating inside - more than I would have thought from the pictures/reviews, but we couldn't get a table & ended up eating it in our car. We got the #3 La Tremblay - chicken breast. It comes with a salad & fries. It's enough for 2 people. We thought the salad was great - wished there was more of that vs the fries. The fries were everywhere - you literally had to dig thru your box to find the chicken. & to me - that was the flaw. You're known for the chicken but truly - the box mostly contained fries....fries that weren't that good. Now - don't get me wrong - the chicken was good - when we could get some pieces of it. I thought the sauce with it was very flavorful. Is it worth the hoopla? Not in my eyes. Focus on what you do well - the chicken & don't surround it with bland fries.View more

Recommended by Canadian friends, we tried this highly reputed Portuguese restaurant, & we were not disappointed by the excellent poutines & chicken sandwiches! The portions are generous, & the prices are reasonable. The salads are also of good quality. So, the quality/price/quantity ratio is unbeatable in the city. Expect a bit of a wait (30 minutes during lunchtime). There are few seats inside, but good weather allows for takeout & a meal at La Fontaine Park, which is just next door.
