Review Summary

Overall, reviews portray Lylac Restaurant as a warm, intimate setting serving authentic Lebanese Syrian dishes with consistently flavorful, generously portioned meals. The food is repeatedly described as fresh, well presented, and rich in authentic flavors, with standout mezze, grills, and handmade bread. The atmosphere is noted for its inviting decor, cleanliness, and a vibe enhanced by Arabic music, live singing, and occasional DJ entertainment that makes it suitable for celebrations. Service is highlighted as attentive, friendly, and efficient, with many reviews praising staff for personalized touches and smooth catering for birthdays and weddings. Many guests say they would return, calling it a top option for Syrian and Middle Eastern cuisine in Laval and the greater Montreal area. While most feedback is very positive, a few comments mention higher prices or the Friday night atmosphere not always having music. Overall the experience combines great flavors, generous portions, memorable service, and a welcoming ambiance that makes it feel like home.

Just so you know how delicious the food is, I forgot to take enough photos 🤤 This restaurant is a great representative of the Aleppine/Syrian food. Straight to the point, authentic, traditional, correct Syrian cuisine. The staff & management are professional & friendly. The hemmos is top notch! & a "Chapeau Bas" to their Chef! Bravo Lylac 👏🏼

Lylac in Laval offers a true taste of authentic Syrian cuisine. The appetizers, especially the hummus & moutabal, are exceptional, setting the stage for a memorable meal. The filet mignon skewers, with an extraordinary sauce, were the highlight of my dining experience. A unique touch I appreciated was the quality mixed nuts served with beer!🍺 The staff is outstanding, providing top-notch customer service that truly reflects the warmth & hospitality of Middle Eastern culture-something that's hard to find in Montreal. I highly recommend Lylac for anyone seeking an authentic & delightful dining experience. 👍

The staff is amazing, the restaurant location & decor are also a plus. Most food is amazing, the grape leaves could be better if they reduce the sourness of the sauce (I guess just reduce or remove the pomegranate molasses, lemon alone would be tastier) & the cheese rolls could be less oily. Kebbeh, mortadella halabi, hummus, fattoush & other dishes we tried were exceptional ! Looking forward coming back to this amazing Syrian cuisine restaurant 👌

So the place is beautiful. Food is yummy One of the few classy halal restaurants in town. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is recently I went there for the iftaar buffet & I was confused why they didn't have any kebabs... or any meat skewers. One would expect that from a Lebanese/ Syrian restaurant. You pay 55$ & get a bunch of different sauces like hummus garlic sauce etc... a bunch of salades & some other random dishes.. everything is yummy, don't get me wrong... but for $55 I was expecting some more meat... Second point, I was surprised to see that they had a gentleman playing music at the time of iftaar... normally people make a prayer or at least close the music at time of iftaar... the majority of people were Muslim & came to open their fast.. why do u have someone playing music? I understand the business side of things, but for the month of Ramadan, at iftaar time it is wrong to have someone playing music..

This is the best restaurant for genuine Syrian food. I ordered their specialities, hot , cold & salades & the food was amazingly delicious & refined. My guests around 30) were so impressed to experience such culinary tastes & were delighted. The service was very professional. Very clean & attentive to our needs. The quality was so high & the quantities were generous that I have leftover to enjoy more.
The owner, came by himself, supervised his staff setting the table, & made sure all our questions were answered.
I recommend strongly every person to feast on this culinary experience of genuine Syrian cuisine👍.
