I went there yesterday with 17 family members because a friend of mine is always hyping this place up. We made a reservation in advance, & somehow no one thought it was important to mention that we'd be forced into a fixed menu. So we get there, start looking at the menu like normal people, & suddenly we're told we don't have a choice. At that point, it's not even about the menu anymore, it's the fact that no one communicated this beforehand.
What really made it worse was the attitude. Instead of owning the miscommunication, the staff immediately started blaming us, like we were supposed to just magically know. They even tried to gaslight us into believing they had already told the person who reserved about it, which simply wasn't true. No apology, no effort to fix it, just rude, dismissive, & honestly disrespectful.
We ended up leaving, which was embarrassing & a complete waste of time with that many people.
If this is how they treat customers, I genuinely don't understand the hype. The lack of basic communication & the attitude alone are enough to make sure I never come back. If you're planning to go, double check everything because clearly they won't bother telling you.
Karla welcomed me & my family as if we were back home in Lebanon. We felt nostalgic & it was amazing to be here, especially with the Saturday night entertainment.
Oh let's not forget, the food is off the hook. Dont miss out

Honestly, this is our go-to restaurant next time we visit in Montreal. We drove all the way from Ottawa, & I have to say, Lylac is a restaurant my family & I will go back to. To start, the service was unbelievable. They were checking our table every 5 minutes to see if we needed anything. Not only one person, but we had a rotation of different servers checking the table & bringing us this hot, amazing fresh bread. The food was absolutely amazing; the portions were great, & the taste was unbelievable. For entertainment, there was also lots of fun, especially the DJ between the singers. It was a great combination. If I have to say what was the best, it was the service with their beautiful, genuine smiles. The way they served was off the charts. I strongly recommend this place if you're looking for one place that has it all; you definitely cannot go wrong.
The food is great but there was an annoying family with 5+ kids running & crying around & the parents didnt even bother to contain their behavior insyead had them sitting away in an another table however the waiter was so helpful he managed it so well & accomodated & talked to the family, he deserves a raise!! Id it wasnt for him i wouldve requested a refund & left :)
Lylac catered our wedding & it was fantastic. We received so many compliments from our guests, they loved the food. We had family style cold & hot mezza, mashawi, & dessert.
In addition to the food, Jean & his team were fantastic. They went above & beyond on the day of & in the weeks leading up to the big day.
I highly recommend them for your event, they will not disappoint!

Restaurant Lylac is a good Middle Eastern restaurant. The food is decent, but the service is excellent. There's a pleasant ambiance & convenient parking available. I highly recommend trying the Baba Ghanoush; it's a standout dish. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. While the food could be improved, the friendly staff & overall experience make it worth a visit.
