Great little local dinner.
Simple food well executed with quality local ingredients. Very happy to have them in the neighborhood!. We got the fried chicken sandwich & the bacon tomato sandwich, both were tasty.
Service is friendly & efficient, 💯 recommended. Prices are also surprisingly reasonable & include taxes. Cash only.
We will definitely come back very soon to try out the rest of the menu.View more

I'd heard about this place & wanted to go for a while, so I was happy to finally try it. The food was good, the service was super nice, & the place was overall clean. My only issue is the price & the fact that it's cash only-it's 2025; get an Interact machine. Second, the food was good, but it definitely wasn't cheap for what you got. Keep that in mind. I'm going to go back & try something else. The fried chicken burger was sweet. If the quality is the same, I'll give it a five-star rating, no issues.View more

Went to NDG Luncheonette for brunch on Sunday, & it was a fantastic experience. The service from the staff was amazing-friendly, attentive, & welcoming. The interior has a charming old-fashioned diner vibe that adds to the experience. Just a heads-up, it's a cash-only spot, which can be a bit inconvenient nowadays, but the quality of the food & atmosphere more than make up for it. Highly recommend it for a cozy & nostalgic brunch!View more

Cash Only!!! Figured that might be helpful to mention up front but don't let that dissuade you from checking out this 5 star place! Food was excellent, really great menu. Waitress was sweet & our food was served promptly. Loved the old school diner esthétique. The capacity of the place is pretty small, even with the outdoor seating, so get there early! My boyfriend hates breakfast places but he enjoyed this one! He had the bagel & lox & they smoke their own salmon!View more

The food is great. Simple but cooked really well. The waitress we had was good at her job (sounds trite, but a lot of people suck at the basics)- periodic check in for coffee & water, pleasantries, not a long wait to order/get food/get bill. Here is why not 5 stars: 1) only option to pay is cash. Really? A square can be added to a phone. For the prices we paid, wasn't any cheaper than other places that serve breakfast. So what, the owners can't offer even interac? I sadly won't return, in 2024, no place should be cash only & push their high margin ATM in the basement as an alternative. 2) while a bit of a misunderstanding, the waitress asked if we wanted apancake to share as dessert. I understood it as a comped freebie to try to upsell us on coming back, since we had said it was our first time. What came out was a full on dish added to our bill as more expensive than any dish we'd ordered. I didn't complain, because it was a nebulous situation, but it was way too slick a play by them & left me annoyed. Sufficed to say while the food & service was quality, the final interactions mean unfortunately I have 0 intentions of ever going back.View more

We had a lovely experience here for sunday brunch. The workers were very kind & attentive to each client. The environment is cozy, & the music was old school classics. I plan on going back not only because of the good vibes but also because of how delicious the burger was. My first bite was packed with flavor 😋 Just a heads up that they only take cash, so make sure to plan your finances accordingly. Otherwise, they have an ATM, or there's a CIBC 4 minutes away by drive.View more

This is by far the best breakfast joint in the city. I have never been greeted so warmly, or had such meaningful conversation with restaurant staff as I did the other morning. The server & chefs were so likeable, & the food was generously portioned & absolutely delicious! I try to be early for breakfast to beat the rush. Cash only - there's an ATM on site.

I've come here 3 times so far, & over those 3 times, I have tried 6 to 7 items on the menu. I have not disliked a single one of them. Obviously I like some more than others, but the fact I haven't disliked anything says a lot.
The servers are have always been nice & give me the impression that they actually like working there, which tells me a lot about the place.
Now, the atmosphere. It's got an old school jukebox kind of vibe, & music to couple with it. Think Neil Young - Heart of Gold. If you sit on the bar stools, you get to see the chefs making the food, & as mentioned earlier, they make some darn good food. It's calm, & relaxing, & perfect for the kind of food they serve.
& finally, the price. First of all, it's cash only. So, today we had an NDG burger & two JJ's Breakfast. Total cost $56. Now, I know what you're thinking, that's a little pricey. & you know what you're right, but the food is nice & fresh, the atmosphere & people are great, & I still tipped 20% because I felt as though it was all worth it. The price is worth it in my opinion, & cash only is a small price to pay for some fantastic food.

While the restaurant wasn’t much to look at from the outside the food & service was amazing. I got the pancakes with blueberries & ricotta. My friends got the breakfast sandwich & friend chicken sandwich. Everyone loved their meals.
It’s cash only but they do have an ATM machine inside. Lots of street parking was available. There was zero wait time on a Saturday at 10:30 am.View more

NDG luncheonette has an authentic retro feel & it delivers on the classic diner vibes. I would highly recommend checking it out, either breakfast or lunch. It's cash only, but there's an ATM on site with a surcharge of 3.50$. I will definitely be going back. The luncheonette is a great addition to the mosaic of the neighborhood.View more

A really nice little diner that has very good food. I really enjoyed my heirloom tomato salad, although it was not too filling, luckily they have a single pancake side which was so good. They only accept cash, but that's ok for me, better that the restaurant gets to keep all those fees. The place is very small though & can get busy.View more
