Cute little spot with a nice vibe. The burger was really good (though a bit on the small side if you're very hungry), & the hot dog was okay.
Service-wise, I had to take off a point due to lack of clear communication. There's no indication anywhere that the place is cash-only, which is important to know in advance (there is an ATM on site, but still). Also, the menu suggests you can swap the chips for coleslaw/beans/potatoes, but only when we got the bill did we realize it comes with an extra $2 charge.
Overall, a pleasant place with good food, but clearer information for customers would really improve the experience.
I felt something in my mouth so i spitted & checked. It was sharp plastic hard vinyl pieces. So i talked to waitress & she said she will let kitchen know. & i didn't hear anything after that… Usually we can hear at least'sorry' or ask if customer wants new one or refund or explain what it was from kitchen. They didn't do any of them.
We enjoyed vibe here, open kitchen looked clean when we enter, food was good, & waitress was very kind. But we are not gonna go again after we saw how they handle the food safety issue.
It was worth trying new place! Hope they handle these situations better next time to other customers. I can see some similar reviews.

Not for me. I had the breakfast sandwich & it made me want to gag. It's the pastrami inside. It's a flavor combination that does not work for me. & it was sweet. It was too much but you might like it. Everything was fresh. The potatoes that came with the dish were crisps, well seasoned & flavorful. Staff was great. Vibe is retro. It's a small place, hard to get too but if you live in the hood you should check it out. They have other things. Maybe this will be for you. I'm rooting for them.
Went to NDG Luncheonette for brunch on Sunday, & it was a fantastic experience. The service from the staff was amazing-friendly, attentive, & welcoming. The interior has a charming old-fashioned diner vibe that adds to the experience. Just a heads-up, it's a cash-only spot, which can be a bit inconvenient nowadays, but the quality of the food & atmosphere more than make up for it. Highly recommend it for a cozy & nostalgic brunch!
Well, where to start? The food ✅ The staff ✅ The vibe ✅ I feel like the waitress was about to karaoke & I'm here for that 🫶🏼 the classic tunes really added to the ambiance. Great place, really enjoyed it & definitely coming back. Went for the first time on Tuesday & went back with someone else the next day! 😅🤣🤣

We had a lovely experience here for sunday brunch. The workers were very kind & attentive to each client. The environment is cozy, & the music was old school classics. I plan on going back not only because of the good vibes but also because of how delicious the burger was. My first bite was packed with flavor 😋 Just a heads up that they only take cash, so make sure to plan your finances accordingly. Otherwise, they have an ATM, or there's a CIBC 4 minutes away by drive.
Went yesterday morning & it wasn't too busy. I didn't expect much of the food but when they brought out our plates that all changed. The steak was perfection & while the pancake was drier than I like, the maple sauce & apple compote balanced it perfectly. The service was great & the staff were really nice. A nice, clean place with a retro diner vibe to it. It's a lovely spot that I'm about to frequent more.
I've come here 3 times so far, & over those 3 times, I have tried 6 to 7 items on the menu. I have not disliked a single one of them. Obviously I like some more than others, but the fact I haven't disliked anything says a lot.
The servers are have always been nice & give me the impression that they actually like working there, which tells me a lot about the place.
Now, the atmosphere. It's got an old school jukebox kind of vibe, & music to couple with it. Think Neil Young - Heart of Gold. If you sit on the bar stools, you get to see the chefs making the food, & as mentioned earlier, they make some darn good food. It's calm, & relaxing, & perfect for the kind of food they serve.
& finally, the price. First of all, it's cash only. So, today we had an NDG burger & two JJ's Breakfast. Total cost $56. Now, I know what you're thinking, that's a little pricey. & you know what you're right, but the food is nice & fresh, the atmosphere & people are great, & I still tipped 20% because I felt as though it was all worth it. The price is worth it in my opinion, & cash only is a small price to pay for some fantastic food.
TL;DR: Cash only. 10/10 worth it. Great food. Great people.

Finally tried this somewhat new local spot for a weekend brunch & we loved it. Sat at the bar, great service, cool retro vibes & yummy food. They were easy to adapt to my no- meat & gluten free diet. Will definitely be back.
The best breakfast in NDG. Quite possibly. Great Vibe. Excellent quality. Locally owned. Brekky perfection....& oh yeah...they have a lunch burger that slays.
NDG luncheonette has an authentic retro feel & it delivers on the classic diner vibes. I would highly recommend checking it out, either breakfast or lunch. It's cash only, but there's an ATM on site with a surcharge of 3.50$. I will definitely be going back. The luncheonette is a great addition to the mosaic of the neighborhood.
Adorable vibes & decor with very attentive & friendly service. We really liked what we were served !🥞 it’s a must try specially if you leave around NDG !
