Very cute trendy vibe diner. The food was basic, regular brunch food, eggs, potato, bacon ect.. No gluten free bread. I'm not crazy about the cash only policy.
The service was also basic, it was not busy, & I feel we always had to flag someone to help us.
Also their phone doesn't work, so don't try & call them.
Mid overpriced food, mid service, place isn't super clean. Cash only so we had to use their atm. Noticed the total on the bill was wrong so had to make another atm transaction & paid 7$ total in fees 🙃
First time here & it was awesome !!! delicious food great + service. I brought cash :-) I came for lunch had the burger with an egg & potatoes. just right !!! I will be back again as it really hit the spot.
LOVE their breakfast! The potatoes are delicious. Also, they only accept cash.
The food is good, but it's expensive for what you get. The service is just okay & not particularly welcoming. Before you even order, they make a point of telling you that it's cash only, which immediately gives the place a sketchy feel.
The menu states that taxes are included in the prices. What concerns me even more is that the receipt is not an official government compliant receipt with the required barcode & QR code. Instead, I received only a handwritten receipt. That makes me question whether the taxes being collected are actually being remitted, since there is no official proof of the transaction.
If a business is going to collect taxes, it should also provide proper legal receipts. Without that transparency, it raises serious concerns & undermines my trust. I won't return here for the reason of the lack of integrity & honesty.
Awesome atmosphere, servers are super nice. The menu is right to the point, but you can't go wrong with anything. Freshly squeezed orange juice & fair prices. Make sure to bring cash!
NDG Luncheonette is a small diner-style restaurant with a good selection of breakfast & lunch options. Service was attentive & friendly. We did not have to wait to long for a table. We had tuna fish & BLT sandwich (or sandy) & both very good. Recommended if you are in the neighborhood! Note: Restaurant is cash only.
Went here with our baby & the food was actually good but the experience was pretty frustrating overall so just a heads up for others.
We didn't realize it was cash only until we were already there we only found out because we overheard the server telling another table after we had already eaten. Would've been really helpful to know that upfront since we had to go use the ATM.
Service was also quite slow. We asked for the baby's food to come first, which they did, but after that things slowed down a lot & we noticed other tables getting served before us.
By the time our baby was done eating & starting to get fussy we just asked for the bill so we could leave. The server said no problem but then came back saying our food was actually coming out. It honestly felt like our order had been forgotten or delayed & at that point we were just trying to manage a tired, unhappy baby & would've preferred to just leave.
Food was good but a bit overpriced. Main downside for us was really the lack of communication (especially about cash only) & the slow service.
Probably fine if you're not in a rush but not great with a baby or if you're on a schedule.
Cute little spot with a nice vibe. The burger was really good (though a bit on the small side if you're very hungry), & the hot dog was okay.
Service-wise, I had to take off a point due to lack of clear communication. There's no indication anywhere that the place is cash-only, which is important to know in advance (there is an ATM on site, but still). Also, the menu suggests you can swap the chips for coleslaw/beans/potatoes, but only when we got the bill did we realize it comes with an extra $2 charge.
Overall, a pleasant place with good food, but clearer information for customers would really improve the experience.
I had a burger & coleslaw & both were 10 on 10. The coffee was just ok but the place is a traditional dinner & that's the type of coffee that is served in dinners. The wait staff told us before we ordered that it is a cash only place. Even though I knew that already, I think that it is a smart move to let the customers know up front & not be surprised when the bill comes. Also it was reasonably priced for our day & age which adds to its authenticity in my opinion.
