Cute market by the water in Montreal. I lived near the place for a few months & went there for fresh food. The bakery has really good, soft bread. I have gone to the flower shop, the meat shop & the ice cream shop. Amazing in the summer. & it is close to the canal so you can do a lot of activities. There are many plant shops outside which make me feel good. The meat shops inside are expensive so be careful.
I love atwater market. It is almost as good as Jean Talon market. The location is amazing. Right by the canal. So you can get your food & do a picnic right by the water. My favorite place in the market is the chocolate shop/bakery store to the left. It always has a good collection of chocolates & pastries. Last weekend they had an International collection from different countries & I sampled some delicious chocolates from them. So shout out to them!

It is a charming market by the lachine canal. Great place to visit during the summer. I like that there are options to buy fresh produce as well as prepared meals so there is something for everyone. If you go inside, there is a lovely bakery with fresh cakes. The flower & plant shops outside are also great. The only thing that bothers me is the price of fresh produce. It is very expensive. Overall great place & a good alternative to Jean Talon market.

We love coming here all seasons but coming here during the Christmas holidays is the best 😇😇 All the vendors & everyone working there is super nice & give the best samples ever 🥰🥰 Once again the best 11/10 venue to buy local & eat local 🙏🙏

Situated in Montréal's Southwest borough, close to the Lachine Canal, Atwater Market takes its name from the avenue bordering it, which in turn was named after Edwin Atwater, a 19th century businessman & city councillor.
Un marché de fruits & légumes, ainsi que de nombreux autres produits, se trouve au bord du pittoresque canal Lachine. Ce lieu animé & coloré est particulièrement prisé pendant la saison estivale, attirant de nombreux visiteurs venus profiter de la fraîcheur des produits locaux & de l'ambiance vibrante du marché.
Visiting Marché Atwater is a delightful experience. I spent time exploring the incredible selection of food, from artisanal cheeses to fresh fish & nuts, & couldn't resist picking up a few items. The variety & quality of products were truly impressive. After shopping, I enjoyed a slice of pizza & some coffee, taking in the lively yet cozy atmosphere. The market's location near the canal is a bonus - I walked along the scenic path & noticed many people biking with Bixi rentals or simply enjoying the area with a coffee in hand. While I live near Jean Talon Market & often shop there, Marché Atwater offers its own charm & is definitely worth a visit. It's a great spot to grab fresh, local goods & enjoy a relaxed outing in Montreal.

Atwater is great for fresh meats seafoods & cheeses all year. The fruit & veggies are less during the winter. Atwater is smaller than Jean Talon market. Easy to get to by bus or metro. Atwater is right next to the canal & one can walk & enjoy the sights.
What a gem of a market! Located in the charming section of Saint Henri, this farmer's market is a must visit. Next to the canal, it is easily accessible by bike or on foot. There are a variety of restaurants, local farmer's stalls, fromageries, a brûlerie, boulangeries, boucheries, & all kinds of interesting shops to explore. We come here often for fresh produce & gourmet meats & fancy viennoiseries.

L'extérieur du marché est particulièrement attrayant, avec une grande zone dédiée à des options de restauration diversifiées. Bien que l'endroit ne soit pas très grand, il dégage une atmosphère chaleureuse & conviviale qui le rend particulièrement accueillant. Situé près du canal, le marché est facilement accessible à pied ou à vélo depuis le Vieux-Montréal, ce qui en fait une destination parfaite pour une sortie en plein air. En résumé, ce marché est un endroit charmant & pratique pour faire ses courses & profiter d'un bon repas dans un cadre agréable.

What a wonderful place . Takes you back into the days where fresh farm fruits 🍈 🍉 🍇 were easy to get. No preservatives no artificial shine Loved the little hustle bustle around with aroma of cheese, fresh baked pizza, chocolate & coffee....💕felt like in a movie. The walk on the canal bridge with children & bikes. There were rentals available too.
Marché Atwater is a staple in Montreal. Right after Jean-Talon, it is the best market in this city. Whether you're here to buy fresh products like veggies, fruits, cheeses, meats or you want to grad a quick bite during your bicycle ride across the pittoresque Lachine Canal, I would highly recommend this place. During summer, there is even an exterior food court, although it is quite pricey & a flower maket with decent prices.
