Stopped by the market Friday evening around six & it was buzzing but not chaotic, that golden hour light through the big front windows on Atwater is worth the trip alone. Grabbed a sandwich from the cheese counter upstairs & the guy actually took time to walk me through three different options instead of just pointing. Prices are a notch higher than a regular grocery store but the produce & the baked goods are clearly a cut above, & the mix of vendors means you can piece together a full picnic in fifteen minutes. Bike racks & a small lot out front made it easy to swing by without much hassle, definitely adding this to my regular stops when I'm back in Montreal.

Great place for fish, seafood meat flowers coffee & baguette, meat... pizza slice. Fresh fruits, planted flowers, plants of herbs during summer season

It's an overrated tourist trap. Don't bother with the few fastfood stalls at the begining of the market --even though the first one is recommended by our travel book, the equality looks appealing, at least on the day we visited. Instead, get sandwiches at the last two establishment at the very end. Also, the beat salads are good. You have a nice picnic with the canal view.
