This place clearly relies on its expired reputation to reel people in & serve plates that leave you scratching your head a little, trying to figure out the hype as you're chewing, trying hard to convince yourself there's more thought given to your dish than what your gut is telling you: this is average & overpriced. But if you like to drink, as many of their patrons do, I think you'll find everything tastes slightly better & the cost of the food is quickly eclipsed by some "special" pompous grape juice your waiter succeeded to hawk on your table, & hey, you had a good time so, YOLO?Voir plus

We went out for dinner last night with friends & had the best time! First, it had to be one of the best meals I have eaten out in a long time. Everything was delicious! From the scallops, the fois gras breakfast sandwich, steak frites, cod & the incredible sourdough bread & butter (ordered it twice), we savoured every bite. Then the dessert after was the cherry on top! I have to say thank you so much to Cece (sorry if I spelled it wrong), she made our night so relaxed & memorable. The way she describes the food & the joy in her face made our night! She loves the food as much as we got to enjoy it. Incredible food, amazing staff & an all around wonderful evening. We've been going to Liverpool House for special & not so special occasions since we moved in the neighborhood 2 years ago. We have yet to eat & drink something that wasn't exceptional in taste, presentation & service! The staff is great & we have a great time every time we visit. Stay awesome!Voir plus

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, & I was blown away by how good the food was. Tasting different meals was truly enlightening. Surprisingly, what impressed me even more was the quality of the service. Sarah was an amazing waitress; not only was she attentive, funny, generous, & professional, but she also had great recommendations. The atmosphere was Montreal country I think. Kinda modern farm house. The cocktails were exceptional & the food was amazing. The halibut collar was delicious & a huge portion. It could have served four imho. I also highly recommend the house salad with Gouda & a delicate but flavorful apple vinaigrette.Voir plus

Everything you expect from the Joe Beef guys, over the top dishes with all the good stuff. The foie gras breakfast sandwich was the food highlight, but the real highlight was the staff. We had Sarah for most of our meal, & she was truly fantastic.Voir plus

Exceptional... I just feel like my opinion doesn't matter because it has all been said before. Our server Mark (augmented by others as available or necessary) was just excellent & seemed to understand us very well. We are not into fussing over wines, but wanted something that balanced the meal we were having, without ordering numerous bottles or glasses. He got it & made a great suggestion at the lesser end of the wine list ($79) - but it really did capture the palate very well. We ordered a selection of 6 Shrimp, 3 Oysters, & 3 portions of Scallops + Beef tartare for three of us to share as Appetizers. Then one Spaghetti Lobster, one Pork Chop, & on Arctic Char - two desserts, coffee, wine, & an aperitif. The service was outstanding the food was exceptional, the atmosphere is perfect (upscale casual - attentive but not hovering).Voir plus

Camille & Matthew are pure gems!!! The service here is impeccable. One of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. From the cocktails to the desserts everything was delicious & the entire staff was just so damn precise & & hospitable. Would (& did) come here again & again!!!
