The restaurant is very understaffed. Orders are taking forever to come out. One waiter only during rush hour (supper). The only waiter is runing all directions i respect his job but business owner need to consider improving the service.View more

The fact that Montreal has the best corned beef pastrami in the world & Lester's is the best there. The food is incredible. There is obviously so much attention to detail & so much work out in. The meat-cutters are talented & make it look simple. Just a great place that serves really special food.View more

Smoke meat is somewhat soft & even rubbery & lacks the brisket texture & smoky taste of authentic Montreal smoke meat a la Swartz's. Some people like it but not those used to the real thing!View more

Inexpensive, everything is delicious, nothing can go wrong! If you are not careful, you will order a full table. In Montreal, if you want to eat authentic food, choose a restaurant in a residential area. It can stand out among the neighbors & basically taste good.
Don't miss Coleslaw, which is the most satisfying one I have eaten in Montreal so far, it is'the WOW'level. Black cherry soda with smoked meat is traditional & perfect.View more

One of the more well-known smoked meat spots in town. The smoked meat was pretty good - tasty & satisfying - & the fries were decent too. Overall, the food hit the spot. That said, the service wasn't great when we went. It felt like we didn't get much attention, which was a bit disappointing.
Still, it's definitely worth checking out, especially if you're visiting & want to try a local favorite. Everyone has different tastes, & while I personally think there are a few places with better flavor, this place has its own charm. Give it a shot & see what you think!View more
