Omggg the smoked deli meat sandwich! Chefs kiss! So tender & juicyView more
We got the smoke meat sandwich & pickles. Both were too salty, the smoke meat texture felt like cheap deli meat. No bueno at all. Service & vibe were very good.View more
Lester's Deli took me back to childhood. For me it had that nostalgia of the old Jewish delis that I grew up going to.
My husband had the Montreal smoked meat with fries & pickles. I had the egg salad sandwich with a side of pickles. The pickles reminded me of the pickles my baba would serve growing up. The fries were also that stereotypical diner style that is absolutely delicious. The prices were also very affordable, especially given the amount of food you get.
The service was also fabulous. It has that family feel that you often don't get at restaurants nowadays.
I highly recommend going to Lester's Deli!!View more
WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE! BOTH SERVICE & THE FOOD ARE PERFECT. LOVE THESE CLASSIC DELI'SView more
Lester's Deli is absolutely amazing. The Montreal Smoked Meat is incredible. Don't forget to get a loaf of their rye bread, a bottle of their homemade mustard, & of course their delicious pickles. I rate Lester's Deli 5 out of 5 Mustaches. Uncle Carmine loves deli's, but this one I'd marry 😁.View more
Food was delicious & the pickle 🥒 was crunchy & tasty. Loved the authentic feel of this Old school & very MTL deli. They had a bunch of quartered pickles & coleslaw portions on the counter just sitting there on a very hot day, not covered.( The restaurant was empty) That was a bit of a red flag for me but that's how they've been doing it for a long time so I guess it's fine right?. The smoked meat sandwich was great but still ranks 2nd Best behind Schwartz's Deli. It didn't feel like home made smoked meat but more like prefabricated meat from the package. I would not be back solely for this reason but it was still delicious & I ate it all.View more
I recently tried the traditional smoked meat sandwich at Lesters Deli in Outremont, & it's a must-try if you're in Montreal. The sandwich is packed with a generous amount of freshly cut meat, served with a pickle & fries. The deli itself is an old, charming spot with very friendly staff, adding to the authentic experience. Definitely worth a visit!View more
Great old school deli. Friendly service. Tasty food. Smoked meat, poutine, pickles, etc. yum yum.View more
Lester's is a must-have every time I visit Montreal. Can't go wrong with the smoked meat sandwich combo with a pickle, fries & a side of coleslaw. Add a black cherry soda for a quintessential Montreal deli experience. The smoked meat is excellent, & the french fries are some of the best I've had anywhere. Sure, they have lots of other dishes on their menu, but I can't bring myself to order anything else!View more
Best deli in city with generous portions of everything. Friendly staff. Really, a staple of MontrealView more
Perfect deli experience - the smoked meat sandwich was exactly what I was looking for: rye was fresh & soft & the meat hot, tender & juicy. Flavours spot on. If I lived in Montreal with would easily be a regular destination. Poutine was fantastic. Service welcoming. Atmosphere classic.View more
We had smoked meat, fries, pickles, Poutine, cheese cake & coffee. ALL SUPERB! the vibe is awesome, a real Montreal style deli. The meat is the best in Montreal!View more
The food is delicious, the service amazing &, as an extra perk, ordering extra smoked meat to take home to freeze allows us to have a treat any night of the week! Team TGO Orthodontics loves Lester's Deli!View more
Stepping into Lester's Deli, you're hit with the kind of expectation that only comes from the promise of Montreal's famed smoked meat! The smoked meat sandwich, let's be clear, is VERY GOOD. It's the kind of flavor explosion that makes you wonder if the chef isn't a Michelin-starred maestro hiding in a deli. The meat is so tender, so richly infused with flavor & spices, it's like the culinary equivalent of a symphony orchestra playing in your mouth, with every instrument perfectly tuned. But then, there's the bread... Oh, the bread. It's the understeer in our gastronomic joyride, the unexpected disappointment that leaves you yearning for a bit more grip on the culinary road. It's as if, in the midst of creating this smoked meat opus, the chef suddenly decided, "Let's just dial it in with the bread it's like pairing a world-class actor with a backup dancer who can't find the beat. & the fries. Where do we start? Calling them "awful" is a kindness. They're the culinary equivalent of attending a concert only to have the speakers blow out during the first song. Burned, flabby, & tasteless, they're a travesty, an affront to potato lovers everywhere. It's as if someone in Montreal decreed, "All fries must henceforth be as appealing as a rain-soaked weekend in the beach." It's not just Lester's; it's a city-wide conspiracy against the humble spud. I wonder if there's a secret society dedicated to ruining fries, meeting in dark alleys & exchanging soggy, burned potatoes as tokens of membership. In sum, Lester's Deli serves up a smoked meat sandwich that could easily become the stuff of legends, if only the bread & fries rose to the occasion making this a place worth visiting again.View more
Another MUST when visiting Montreal! The Smoked Meat Sandwich, tremendous! Very simple but nothing quite like it. The tourists go to Schwartz's Deli but the locals know the deal, Lester's Deli is the ONE!View more
