Les Enfants Terribles stands out with a festive downtown vibe, a striking room and a terrace that enhances the meal for groups or a relaxed dinner. The service is consistently praised as attentive, friendly and professional, with staff guiding guests through the menu and drinks and handling groups with ease. The food is described as solid and flavorful across a range of dishes, from oysters and tartares to steak frites, with standout desserts and cocktails. The atmosphere is noted as lively yet refined, and the view adds to the appeal. Some reviews mention price, noise, or occasional timing hiccups, but the overall impression is one of high quality, thoughtful service, and a memorable dining experience worth returning for.
Had an excellent Mothers day brunch at the bar. Service was quick, attentive & the food was excellent. I thought I would be dissapointed when I learnt they were no longer on the roof with the view but the service & food made up for it.

Been here twice, & the duck leg poutine was the standout - perfectly cooked & so flavorful. The service was great, but the other dishes we tried were just okay. Stunning night view.
This was one of my favourite spots to eat at with my husband. We love it so much, we had our wedding dinner here when it was still at the top of Place Ville Marie with the city views. A little bummed they moved to ground level but the food makes up for it.
Appetizers were so good we thought we'd order a main against previous advice. The steak was cold, raw & unable to cut. Our server was great about everything & had us another one cooked. It came out medium well as we expected that medium rare was no longer in our future. The add on "jus" was just a gravy. We were charged for the steak fries which is fine because we ate it, but only because we were hungry & not because it was good. Unsure if I would go back, maybe to try another location as we were advised to go for the view of which the downtown location did not really have one. Food comes out extremely fast, which could be great if it was cooked. the room had a nice ambiance to it. It is a big space close to the Bell Centre.
Service was a little slow, but staff were very busy - like most of the hospitality industry, probably short of staff. The food was very tasty & enjoyable. We ate inside near a table of very loud people, which slightly spoilt the atmosphere, but otherwise very pleasant, with good views & comfortable seating

Location: Place Ville Marie, Rue Cathcart, 9pm, Tuesday, Aug 27th, 2024. As a classically trained culinary gastronome, I rarely take the time to provide reviews unless the experience is either exceptional or terrible. THIS WAS EXCEPTIONAL!!! 1st time back to Montreal in decades. Had a long day @ an international medical Symposium in The Bonaventure Hotel. The concierge & front desk both recommended the eatery that was close & had decent cuisine. I arrived after 9pm but they're thankfully still serving. I was alone & as usual, parked myself @ the bar to get up close & personal with the staff & had a view of the open kitchen. JC quickly attended to me, l asked by chance if they served the 1792 Full Proof Bourbon (Double Gold Winner in 2 of the 2024 World Spirit Competitions: in San Francisco & Singapore), which disappointingly, they did not. I ordered a glass of water instead, which l commented was very good....compliments to the Montreal community water system. I wanted FISH & CHIPS, but they were "86" (out) of it by then. JC unhesitingly recommended the EUROPEAN SEA BASS. I reluctantly took his advice. Fresh seafood is rarely properly done in a high volume commercial establishment & l expected an average @ best product. But, l was hungry & I didn't quibble with JC. Refreshingly, it came quickly & l could immediately see that it had been expertly prepared: The skin of the Sea Bass was seared to just the right crispiness. The flesh was perfectly done, neither over or under cooked, an often difficult skill. It had a good flavor & texture. Likely the best piece of Sea Bass l've ever tasted. The green beans were sautéed just right (tender yet still firm....al denté). The accompaning fennel was also done well & flavorful (Would love to have frond strands included). Not to forget, the remoulade was also distinctive, rich in umame texture (anchovy added depth of character) with a slight spicy bite to add to the ying-yang balance of the Sea Bass. I wished l had a slice of french bread to sop it all up. My promise to JC to return the next night unfortunately, went unfulfilled. As was my desire to acquire their distinctive black t-shirts with their restaurant moniker. My final note is to the well run operation. All of the employees, JC, most of all, were exemplary in their cordial, courteous & efficient, knowledgeable attention to patrons & service details. I watched the choreographed teamwork & if their fastidious attention to the work of cleaning their glassware is any indication, they exemplified proud dedication to their duties. Very delicious food! Specifically, I highly recommend octopus, beet & goat cheese. Those are to die for! Service was also great. Also, there is a stunning view from the terrace.
Excellent food but I am giving three stars only because I called to make a reservation few minutes ago, & they told me that the restaurant was moved to the level, the most of this restaurant was the terrace on the 46th floor, with a wonderful view of Montreal city's panoramic! Now it is a like an other normal restaurant, so sad, I use to invite people from out of the country to eat there, but now there is nothing special to show.
It's always such an experience going to this restaurant. The waiters are kind & attentive, & the food is sublime. I've been once during the Loto Québec fireworks & we had the entire view for it. Amazing experience, favourite restaurant for sure.
Nice location with floor-to-ceiling views of the Ring installation at Esplanade Place Ville Marie. The space is bright & airy, with comfortable seating. Service was friendly & attentive. It was a nicer establishment, so we had a good meal, but were comfortable bringing our children, especially because the restaurant offered a good kids' menu. We ordered salmon tartare, the goat & beet salad, & steak frites to share, along with chocolate pie for dessert. Everything was portioned well, so we definitely didn't leave hungry. We were able to take a nice stroll in the esplanade afterwards, which was also nice.
Everything was...OK...the food was fine, the service was fine the atmosphere was fine....but for the price I expected more. Especially because my husband took me there for my birthday & although it was on the reservation we told the hostess & the waitress I didn't even get a polite happy birthday. I'm glad I went because it was on KY bucket list & the view was great but I definitely would not go back.

👍🏼👍🏼 The bill was surprisingly decent for such a unique venue. 👍🏼👍🏼The view is absolutely breathtaking! 👍🏼 The food was okay. 👎🏼 It did get a little crowded at one point: it was very noisy & difficult to move around. ☝🏼Most of our guests had a tough time finding the place. The easiest way to get to the restaurant is from René-Levesque boulevard. 👉🏼 Overall this is the perfect place to impress your friends & family without busting your budget. I will definitely keep this place in mind for upcoming events.
Amazing view & I love the ambiance! As you can already expect, though, it is overrated & definitely overpriced. The menu is also pretty limited. Food isn't bad but not "wow" either. Cocktails were good tho. The tables seem too close to each other, but I bet a window table is amazing & better. It's a must-visit but as other reviews say, there are other & cheaper places to see the Montreal skyline! Also a note: I have heard there's an additional rooftop terrace but that was closed & apparently has been for a long time. A pity!
Where do I begin with this horrible place? I'm sorry, I genuinely tried to enjoy this place, but it's an utter joke. It's quite fitting that "terrible" is in the name because it simply is. We were a large group with set menus, & the staff couldn't manage to get it together. The portions are small & overpriced. I suppose you're paying for the view, but once you've seen it, who cares? Go to Mount Royal, look at the view, & save the hundreds of dollars you'll waste here. When it's a group menu, there's an 18% tip right off the bat. They didn't deserve that at all. My food wasn't bad, that's why it's getting a 2-star, & the view is great, but it truly wasn't anything special. The tables weren't even set properly. I couldn't recommend this place less. You seriously need to try harder for the price you're charging. This is beyond unacceptable.
