Les Enfants Terribles stands out with a festive downtown vibe, a striking room and a terrace that enhances the meal for groups or a relaxed dinner. The service is consistently praised as attentive, friendly and professional, with staff guiding guests through the menu and drinks and handling groups with ease. The food is described as solid and flavorful across a range of dishes, from oysters and tartares to steak frites, with standout desserts and cocktails. The atmosphere is noted as lively yet refined, and the view adds to the appeal. Some reviews mention price, noise, or occasional timing hiccups, but the overall impression is one of high quality, thoughtful service, and a memorable dining experience worth returning for.
Disappointing service & food for the money spent - in a cozy, classy setting since coming down from the top of Place Ville Marie.
Decided to try this new location with some friends visiting from Australia. Waiter dropped menus off for us & was pretty prompt in taking our beverage order. Cocktails & wines were on the high end of price, but we were going out so we splurged. The sparkling wine (Cava) I ordered was flat & at room temperature. Cocktails were tasty & well made. We ordered the French onion soup, the seared duck salad, & the shepherds pie. Food was delivered in a reasonably good time - but the soup was not super hot- neither was the shepherds pie. The main course did not come with any side, vegetables or options, & seemed as if it had been just put in the plate & reheated in a microwave, but not for long enough. There was also a lacking of pepper availability as we had to seek out the Peppermill, which was quickly whisked back away from hands of my guest after he had gotten a few grinds of pepper on the salad & main course. As we got our plates, I asked the waiter for the wine menu because I wanted to have a nice glass of red with the meal. He promptly dropped the wine menu at the table, but did not come back to take my order until my meal was about 3/4 eaten. The same happened with the dessert menus… He dropped the menus for us, but disappeared for 15 minutes & by the time he came back, nobody wanted dessert. Empty plates sat at our table a lot longer than they should have, & getting the attention of anyone of the servers was extremely hard. They were constantly walking by our table, but just weren't looking at us or making any eye contact. Finally since we gave up on making a dessert order, we just wanted to leave. Some high value upsell items' sales lost through inattentive serving staff. The steak size & portion for one of my guests was quite small steak & lots of fries. The shepherds pie seemed like just a lot of mashed potatoes with some pulled beef on the bottom, & we didn't find any corn or corn sauce as part of this menu item as indicated in the ingredients. The last time I had been to Les Enfants has been six years ago, & I had a whole different experience when it was at the top of place Ville Marie where it always seemed active & maybe a little more classy, with better trained & attentive staff, who had more personality & a bit more fun. Get more pepper grinders for the tables to use.

Just had dinner here & unfortunately I don't understand the 4.2 rating. Besides the mushroom arancini which was fine, everything else I ate was not good. The salmon tartare had zero flavor (even not from the jalepeno) & the cut of steak used in the steak & fried was so tough. I ordered it in medium & I could tell it wasn't the temperature but it was the cut of meat. Overall service was super slow. I was only checked on one & waited 10 minutes for a box & my check. The restaurant was not even busy since it was 4:30pm when I came in. I can't imagine how it is when it is busy. Overall, skip. Don't waste your time.
We booked on line a table for 4 & when we arrived, we were seated at the bar with a number of tables for 4 available. My steak frites was lukewarm & tough, since we were heading to a concert, I didn't want to send it back. Overall, disappointing. Bartender was nice though.
First brings the wrong wine, then the steak was overcooked. The sauce never came then when we asked we got it at the middle of our meal. Then someone came with the sauce when we were done.
Overpriced for the quality of service & food. The place is beautiful, great atmosphere.
This was my first time dining at Les Enfants Terribles since they moved to their new location & it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Service was excellent & the food was exceptional. I had the Steak Frites, which was cooked to perfection, & I ordered with extra chimicurri sauce, which was delicious. My group & I ordered three desserts to share - pouding chomeur, chocolate mousse, & creme brulee - & each one was exceptional (my favorite was the mousse). My group was there for a business lunch & it was the first time that we were able to order, eat the main meal, & enjoy dessert & coffee, within 90 minutes (without rushing), so service was extremely efficient. I look forward to my next visit!

I've been to Les Enfants before & had a good experience, so for a special occasion, I decided to take the family there. The service & atmosphere were great. We ordered five steaks, but I was disappointed to see there was no consistency. Some were about a quarter the size of others, & a few were burned. While some of us enjoyed our meals, others didn't. Overall, I was kind of disappointed & I'm not sure if I'll go back.
I had an absolutely lovely experience at this restaurant today. I started with the oysters, which were beautifully presented-briny & perfectly shucked. For my main, I had the steak frites, & it was just what I was hoping for: tender, flavorful steak cooked exactly to my liking, paired with golden, crispy fries that were addictive in the best way.
The atmosphere was relaxed yet refined, & the service was friendly & attentive without being overbearing. It's clear that quality & care go into everything they do here. I'll definitely be coming back-& bringing friends next time!
Service was great, wine was amazing. The food was ok. My friend & I had different tartares. They were both ok, but not great. The marinade on them were not balanced. The steak of my partner was ok but nothing impressive.
Appetizers were so good we thought we'd order a main against previous advice. The steak was cold, raw & unable to cut. Our server was great about everything & had us another one cooked. It came out medium well as we expected that medium rare was no longer in our future. The add on "jus" was just a gravy. We were charged for the steak fries which is fine because we ate it, but only because we were hungry & not because it was good. Unsure if I would go back, maybe to try another location as we were advised to go for the view of which the downtown location did not really have one. Food comes out extremely fast, which could be great if it was cooked. the room had a nice ambiance to it. It is a big space close to the Bell Centre.

Food: we ordered the steak & the macreuse & needless to say we were disappointed. The steak was so small, the plate was full of fries. The macreuse was extremely small, tasted like hospital food.... With boiled carrots & peas .... It was more expensive than the steak & the taste & texture were really disappointing. We also had calamari for starters & there were not crispy at all, little burnt. We were also served salt but the container was empty Service: we were asked once if it was to our taste when the plates were almost finished. Atmosphere: we were already told it was not on the roof anymore, disappointed but can't say we did not know. Like someone said in the comments I feel like nothing makes it special anymore. Very disappointed by the portion & the quality of the food
Enjoyable dinner had here. Prices are a little high for the quality of food, but the service & the restaurant itself were quite nice. Duck confit poutine was delightful, steak & frites were under seasoned & slightly over temperature on the steak cook.
I don't get the hype. Got a salad, they charged almost 30 dollars & I think there were 5 pieces of chicken in it. Another time I went, got steak & fries, morning special, soggy fries. New location is super loud as well....
