Everything is good except the ribeye steak. It was very chewy & nothing special about it. French toast is excellent! Escargot is good as well as the service.View more

Great food & drink. The duck breast was amazing! & the steaks were great. We had beef tartare to start & it was also great. Didn't come with enough crackers & the children are several helpings of bread.View more

Went as a group of 5 & had an okay time. Oysters were phenomenal, the Avril Sour was delicious, the duck leg was quite good, but the cut of steak we had for the steak frite was extremely chewy & not enjoyable. Served seemed to have been sat a large section near the end of our night & was unable to be attentive to our table.View more

All in all, we were satisfied with the food. The crab cakes were a little disappointing ! I would not recommend this appetizer as they did not stand out in any way. The main dishes were all great : salmon tartare was perfectly seasoned + came with a choice of either green salad, French fries or veggie of the day (which was green beans : the waiter suggested a green bean salad). The option of a different side for the tartare was very refreshing & the green bean salad complemented the tartare very well ! The scallop main dish was filling enough which sometimes isn't the case depending on portion sizes ! The grilled beef hanger steak was quite good & came with enough fries for 4 people ! Finally, special mention to the salted butter served with fresh baguette as we waited for the food to arrive. That butter was creamy & flavourful, one of the best butters I have had in Montréal so far !! Great atmosphere, great waiter, great attention to our table & needs throughout the evening 🌃 Thanks Lemeac 😊View more

July 2024 - Well, in my last review, I said we would be back. We went back for our anniversary. The food was amazing as always. We each started with an appetizer. I had the Crab Cake, & my husband had the Foie Gras. The crab cake was served with a gribiche sauce & julienne cucumber salad. I wanted more. The Duck foie gras au torchon was served with a brioche bread & a feuit chutney. The fries Gras was absolutely amazing. It was so finely done that it melted in your mouth. The main dishes consisted of a Hanger Steak served with fries & a mustard mayo. The homemade Bloody Pudding was served with finely whipped celery root & a cider sauce. Wow. Believe it or not, we were so full, I guess because of the wine, we shared a Rum baba with chantilly cream & grapefruit ice cream. The service was on point, & all the servers were attentive, courteous, & friendly. This restaurant is not cheap. But the experience & food were well worth the price. Reservations are a must. We were there on a Tuesday & the restaurant, inside & out was full. Another must. 2016 - The food was excellent. We had the grilled octopus as an appetizer. I had the onglet of beef & fries. The steak was cooked to perfection. My husband had the blood sausage. He said it was the best he ever had. The decor is nice but it is a bit noisy. Reservations are required because it is a small restaurant. Will go back.View more

Loud & overrated. The food is average at best. Chewy steak, burnt & overly sweet French toast. Brunch manager has an attitude because we asked for no pork in a dish twice, they forgot, served us the dish with the pork, & I told him that was unacceptable. Turns out at Lemeac the manager's feelings are more important than what's in your plate so watch out if you have allergies & they mess up your order not to upset him by pointing out they messed up. Maybe this place was good 15 years ago but it's hasn't been good for at least a few years, no idea why people still go there. Maybe they like to shout at each other & eat bad food served by people with bad attitudes. If you're in outremont go to mikado or damas instead.View more

Fine French bistro cuisine with attentive service. Soups, lamb, fish, steak classics all done with refinement & savoury results. Been a client here for decades. Merci.View more

We went there couple of times & last time it was for our anniversary. We love it! Both the steaks & desserts are very good. We tried beef tartare for the first time & it was really good & refreshing. Rib eye is always good & cooked to perfection. I think it's better without the sauce that comes with it. Mashed potatoes also passed the test. For dessert, we always take pain perdu & rum baba. Both are very good. Pain perdu is not heavy & is very well balanced. If you are going for more fruity & fresh dessert, go with rum baba. We tried most of the other desserts too before but these two never failed. For coffee we liked americano better than filter coffee. Again good combo for the desserts. The ambiance is good. We love the tables next to the window. The staff is friendly & fast. Compared to the other french fine dinings, we really like Lemeac & it's worth what we paid for. Thanks for the experience!!View more

My first time eating here & I loved the experience, I just found the food just ok. The service, the menu, the restaurant itself, everything is great & contributes to the dining out experience but I think I ordered the wrong thing because I found the food a bit lacking. The steak was a bit tough & the fries quite ordinary. The tartare was delicious but the julienne fries again were just ok. The creme brule was slightly too burnt so the crust was a bit too bitter for my taste. This restaurant is still excellent & I will give it another chance in the future.View more

I like this place the appetizer I got was escargot with tomato & mushrooms which was delicious! Then I ordered the beef hanger steak, I couldn't eat it at all bc the meat tasted like what cows smell like when u visit them at a farm. The fries that came with the steak were amazing. The restaurant was kind enough to remove the steak from the bill without me asking for it. I would come back but for sure will not order meat whatsoever. I will probably got for fish or chicken next time. The service was amazing & friendly.View more

First time in Montreal & was recommended this restaurant. On entering the atmosphere was buzzing as we lead to our table
The waitress that served us was unhelpful & when asking for recommendations on the French menu did not give much advice.
Could not fault the starters of escargot but the mains were presented like pub food!
Ordered hanger steak & chips & that was exactly what was received - small steak with a very large plateful of chips.
Duck, salad & fingerling potatoes - little amount of potatoes, much more salad
When paying, omitted the tip as was going to pay cash - was harassed by both the waitress & the maître’d as to why a tip was not given by credit card at the time of payment.
Sorry - would not recommend this restaurantView more
