Le Toasteur Villeray est un restaurant de déjeuners et de brunchs au cœur de Villeray.
Si le concept du Toasteur existe depuis plusieurs générations et a eu plusieurs emplacements, c’est dans le quartier de Villeray qu’il a trouvé son second souffle.
Fin 2020, on a choisit de flipper la table, au sens propre comme au figuré ! Du réaménagement de l'espace à la refonte du menu, on a décidé de se renouveler. Ça a été possible grâce à une équipe passionnée et surtout grâce à la clientèle du quartier qui nous démontre son amour du brunch depuis plus de 10 ans.

I live in the area & this is the best brunch food in the borough. Unfortunately the service is incredibly slow. Almost always an hour wait to get a table, despite their recent renos adding a second floor of seating, & then when you do get a table, it takes forever to have your order taken, drinks & food to arrive (sometimes an hour for the food to come), & for the bill to be paid. It's sad because this place truly has a great atmosphere with a great rotating menu (always with allergen-friendly options) but it seems like they are always understaffed. The staff always seem rushed & behind on everything, & I wonder if there's only 1 person working in the kitchen (my guess).
I really feel for the staff who work here, & each of them are lovely people truly, but unfortunately the slow service makes it really undesirable to eat here, unless I arrive like as soon as they open, which is not brunch hours.
I also wonder if they hired more people in the kitchen or the food came out faster, if the wait time overall would be quicker.

I'm not a Quebecian, but I visit Montreal regularly & this is the one place I always come back to! This brunch spot is just amazing, unlike anywhere I've ever been! Their hospitality is out of this world, their drinks are the most refreshing & their food is the tastiest with also a lot of vegan/vegetarian options 😋
I can recommend Quebecian or tourist to come here & have some brunch & enjoy the real taste of Montreal!!Voir plus

This is a 3.5 stars for me.
The place is quite small but it has a nice vibe. Just plan to arrive earlier than 9 AM on weekends, it's not possible to book tables.
Staff is very welcoming & friendly.
In terms of the food, I find it average, nothing special. The french toast were too dry for my taste. The menu changes every 3 months. Overall, it's a good neighbourhood option.
Street parking can be challenging to find, best bet is Av De Chateaubriand.Voir plus

Most revelatory for a brunch place: great options for vegetarians! For once not feeling like a second thought. The vegetarian classic breakfast comes with eggs, veg. sausage, tofu, salad, toast, & French toast with REAL maple syrup (no extra charge)!Voir plus

Excellent brunch avec une carte variée dont des options végétariennes! Venez tôt pour avoir une place rapidement.
Les boissons sont toujours très bonnes & le déjeuner en terrasse très agréable.

C'est toujours très bon & avec un bon services. Par contre ces très petit donc si vous y aller aux heures plus achalandé vous risquez de devoir attendre.
Mais sinon ça rien à dire... ils offrent aussi plusieurs option de déjeuner Vegane.

Very good place to have breakfast. The food is very fresh & tasty, a many options in menu. In the morning quite busy, I think that's why it took 45 minutes to wait for the food,but it worth it. Coffee latte is huge size . I had great croissant sandwich.Voir plus

C'était ma première visite. Endroit charmant & lumineux. Personnel accueillant, chaleureux & souriant. Je ne mange jamais de poutine, mais là, j'ai cédé à la description, & pris l'option tofu & asperges. Plat copieux & délicieux. Ma fille a pris les crêpes au thé matcha, qu'elle a adorées !
