Situé dans une chaleureuse demeure victorienne depuis plus de 45 ans, Le Surcouf est un sympatique petit restaurant français. Dominique et Serge le chef propriétaire se feront un plaisir de vous acceuillir dans leur établissement pour vous faire gouter à une fine cuisine classique et renouvellé. Avec la venu de l'automne le retour du menu chasseur s'ajoute à la table d'hôte que le client peut créer à sa propre guise.

Every time that we visit Le Surcouf we are treated to wonderful experience. All the staff are attentive, efficient & courteous - a very professional team. The meal preparation is outstanding & the presentations are beautiful. The wine list is extensive & unique. When we are looking for a special dinner out, are number one choice is Surfouf & they always make the event special.

Another amazing dinner experience at this fantastic restaurant. With the owner always omnipresent & helping staff while making rounds from table to table, great service is assured. The cooking team is outstanding, putting out plate after plate of what is, in my opinion, Michelin quality food.
Although the wine selection is very respectable, the house wine is awesome.

Today I finally visited this, in my opinion, legendary restaurant. Before this, I had several unsuccessful attempts to reserve a table for the dates I wanted, but unfortunately, it was always fully booked. & today I succeeded. 😊
What can I say? A very, very beautiful interior, creating a feeling of luxury & coziness at the same time. Many paintings, beautiful furniture, truly interesting French music that perfectly complements the atmosphere. 🎶
The waiters are friendly, very hospitable, they know the menu inside & out & can perfectly pair drinks with any dish, making the choice even more enjoyable. 🍷
The food is magnificent, each dish is a work of art. The presentation truly deserves a separate compliment, & the flavors are simply fire! 🔥 Special thanks to the chef for their mastery. 👨?🍳
In short, I am very happy to have visited this restaurant, & I highly recommend it if you want to taste outstanding French cuisine & enjoy an unforgettable evening. 👍

We hadn't been in a couple of years although it was always a favourite. Glad to see the quality & service are still at 100%. These days it's not easy to find traditional French cuisine...everything is molecular this, gastronomic that... usually some celebrity chef-du-Jour showing off his cooking skills. But Le Surcouf remains true to its origins & purpose...outstanding traditional French cuisine. Sure, the flourishes & extra touches are there, but the backbone is wonderful taste sparing no expense in terrific ingredients. After all, where can you still get a whole sole Meunière, filleted & cleaned table-side. Or crepe suzettes flambeed before your eyes. Not that I mind creative cuisine, but it's always good to get back to the traditions that set the stage for everyone else. Le Surcouf is a West-Island gem that can compete with the best of downtown, & in a gorgeous setting. I needed smelling salts when I saw the bill, but it was worth it!

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the Owner & Maître d'Hôtel, Dominique. Her charming & attentive nature added a personal touch to our evening, making us feel like cherished guests in her home. The service at Le Surcouf is impeccably timed, ensuring that each course is presented at the perfect moment, allowing us to savor every bite without feeling rushed. To start, my wife chose the "Crazy Salad," a delightful mix of fresh greens, vibrant vegetables, & a light, tangy dressing that awakened her palate. For her main course, she opted for the "Scallops with Leek Gratiné with Parmesan." The scallops were cooked to perfection, tender & flavorful, while the leek gratiné added a creamy, savory richness that complemented the dish beautifully. I began my meal with "Le Foie Gras," a luxurious appetizer that was decadently smooth & rich, paired with a delicate, slightly sweet accompaniment that balanced the flavors exquisitely. For my main course, I chose the "Veal Chop with Sautéed Mushrooms in a Cream Sauce." The veal chop was succulent & tender, with the sautéed mushrooms & cream sauce adding a depth of flavor that elevated the dish to a gastronomic delight. This was our first time coming here. The restaurant situated in a house is very quaint. Were foodies & I can tell you this place would take a back seat to any restaurant. The service was very friendly & professional. In not knowing what to try our waitress was very helpful & very nice about all the questions. The beef tartare was excellent with a little spice to start. The lobster bisque outstanding. The article char was very flavourful & rhe filet with peppercorn was amazing. The desserts were black forest cake & the chocolate molten cake. Both excellent. The nice little extras were the amouse Bouche at the beginning & at the end. This was truly an enjoyable experience

Very neat & gemutlich place with outstandingly friendly & attentive service. All courses were tasty, nicely arranged & cooked "à point". Great choice of apéritfs, cocktails & wines, too.

Dominique & her team always make an evening at Surcouf a very special outing. They always go over & above to make for a great experience. The meal & presentations are outstanding & the private importation wine selections are delicious!
