Le Surcouf is a welcoming French restaurant established in a Victorian home for over 45 years now. Dominique and the chef Serge will be pleased to help you discover the fine French classic cuisine. In the fall the restaurant offers a special game menu in addition to their regular table d'hôte that you create yourself.
Le Surcouf consistently earns praise for excellent French cuisine, impeccable service, and a warm, elegant atmosphere in a charming old house with multiple intimate rooms. The wine list is excellent and dietary needs are well accommodated with gluten free options, making it a reliable choice for special occasions and relaxed dinners alike. While some guests note that prices can be on the higher side and that service can be slower on busy nights, the overall experience remains memorable and consistently high quality.
Our office luncheon of 18 experienced polished service & great food. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays completing the experience. Always delighted to recommend this restaurant
We had the scallops & rack of lamb. The seared foie gras was expensive (even for here) but very different & tasty. The escargots were also very good. Not a cheap dinner, but a great place to treat yourself once in a while. No cheap wines on this winelist. The daily specials would be be cheaper.
The food was as usual not disappointing & excellent & the service very personalized . Congratulations for staying at the top of the best restaurant in the West Island.

Very friendly, attentive & efficient service . A multiple choice menu with delicious food offerings that was appreciated by all. A complete success for the celebrated & the celebrants!

Shared the crepe suzette for two. The Bomb as my girlfriend Joyce put it! Thank you Dominique for your wonderful food & staff! Thank you to Stephane who served us. The service was impeccable! We were so well taken care of as usual!
We enjoyed another wonderful dinner on November 5, 2025. The service & food were absolutely amazing & the atmosphere never disappoints. We will definitely return very soon.

We had not been to Le Surcouf, in probably more than 25 years.
Fantastic experience! Le Surcouf, is exactly what a good french restaurant should be.
Great food (one of our best meal ever) great atmosphere & excellent service.
We will be back for sure.
