Le Serpent delivers a focused interpretation of Italian culinary traditions with a primary emphasis on meticulously crafted pasta dishes. The menu utilizes seasonal ingredients to construct complex flavor profiles while maintaining a commitment to accessibility through deliberate vegan options. Industrial aesthetics define the physical environment, characterized by expansive ceilings and exposed structural elements that frame the open layout. Diners interact with a rotating selection of plates that prioritize texture and precise seasoning over unnecessary ornamentation. The culinary approach centers on the balance between traditional techniques and contemporary preparation methods. Every dish reflects a dedication to authentic, high-quality components sourced to meet rigorous standards. This establishment functions as a definitive destination for individuals seeking a precise and unadorned experience rooted in classic Mediterranean influences and sophisticated, ingredient-driven cooking.

Le Serpent offers a sophisticated dining experience in a stylish industrial setting that many guests find inviting and unique. The restaurant is widely praised for its creative Italian-Mediterranean fusion menu, with standout dishes like the bucatini, mushroom tartlet, crudo, and tender duck magret often highlighted. Guests frequently commend the staff for their professional, attentive service and expert recommendations, contributing to a memorable atmosphere that balances elegance with a casual, social vibe. While some diners have noted that the space can become quite noisy and pricing is on the higher end, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors considering it a must-visit destination in Montreal and expressing a strong desire to return for future special occasions.
The ambiance & atmosphere in this space is absolutely perfect. Inviting & social, yet discreet & personal. I cannot applaud the staff enough for the beautiful cocktails, friendly service, & impeccable ability to time all dishes & quality checks at the perfect time throughout our entire experience. The bucatini is the star of the menu. It is by far the most enjoyable & complex tasting dish I've had the pleasure of enjoying. The bluefin tartare was buttery in texture with the most incredible sauce to add the expected amount of flavour. I would recommend this place to my worst enemy. 10/10, 20/20, 69/69. Spectacular.
Food
The standout dishes at Le Serpent were the mushroom tart & the crudo, both fresh, flavorful, & easily the most memorable parts of the meal. While the rest of the menu was solid, nothing else truly stood out or left a lasting impression. Overall, the food earns a 7/10.
Atmosphere
The ambiance was more disappointing than expected. The industrial decor felt bland & uninspiring, outdated. The music did little to enhance the dining experience. Rather than feeling inviting , the space came across as tired & lacking energy. The atmosphere receives a 4/10.
Overall Impression
We left Le Serpent feeling underwhelmed. While there were a couple of highlights, the overall experience didn't quite meet expectations. Given the abundance of excellent dining options in Montreal, Le Serpent doesn't stand out enough to warrant a return. I would recommend exploring other restaurants in the city before considering this one.
Went here for a business dinner. Place has a cool vibe although I don't think the AC was working the night we dined. It was a bit humid. We ordered a few apps to share & I ordered the veal as my main dish. I really enjoyed the veal dish as it was prepared in 2 ways & had many components that balanced each other well. The pasta dishes were good but nothing that blew me away. My favourite appetizers were the mushroom tart & the lamb tartare so would recommend those. The crudo was good but found some of the toppings overpowering such as the orange on the branzino. The desserts were very good! Would recommend the lemon ricotta dessert! The play on textures & freshness of the lemon was great. Overall great dining experience but for the price, dunno if it'll be a repeat customer.

Cool & hip atmosphere. Good Italian food, high-end service. We were a group of 12 people & the service was surprisingly fast. We order & shared many dishes. They were all delicious. My only complaint is value for the price - the price seemed a bit expensive.
Outstanding service from start to finish. The dishes were absolutely delightful, & the steak was incredible, cooked to perfection exactly as ordered. While the desserts were a little less my personal taste, the overall experience was excellent. I would definitely come back for the quality of the food & the impeccable service.
We had such a lovely evening at Le Serpent. The food was excellent, especially the Bucatini & the Paccheri. They really know how to do pasta right. Both dishes were fresh, full of flavour, & unique in the best way.
The desserts were amazing as well. The tiramisu was rich & delicious. Everything was beautifully presented, & the restaurant itself is stunning with a great atmosphere.
Service was kind & attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend Le Serpent to anyone looking for a memorable dinner in Montreal.
Le Serpent relies entirely on its reputation & its industrial-chic atmosphere to distract you from the fact that you are being fleeced.
A $430 bill for a couple with two children, without even ordering a bottle of wine & without a steak (or any protein for that matter), that's pretty offensive in my book. The pasta dishes are'delicate' only in the sense that they are missing the actual food.
When the bill arrived, it felt like a punitive tax for choosing the wrong restaurant. A bitter (& starving) end to what was supposed to be a nice night.
If you gotta go there, just be ready to hit the Five Guys two blocks away before or after. But better yet, just don't go.
Le Serpent was an incredible experience from start to finish. We sat at the bar, which created a very intimate & comfortable atmosphere. The team was attentive, warm, & knowledgeable - especially our server, who was exceptionally well versed in the wine menu & guided us toward great pairings.
The food itself was outstanding. The octopus was tender & flavourful, the pasta was fresh & beautifully executed, & the fish - seared to absolute perfection - was one of the highlights of the night. Portion sizes were generous, & the pricing felt very fair for the quality & craftsmanship of the dishes.
A fantastic dining experience overall. We're already excited to return!
Perfect food with knowledgeable & welcoming staff.
Excellent atmosphere, with interesting'Industrial Pea Pod' light fixtures, & some great pipe-work art above the bar area. Not too noisy.
We went with the large group, & it was an extremely nice experience. The dishes came out at just the right time.
There will be no surprise in my review...
Le Serpent was simply fantastic!
The food was hmpf ! Delicious. We were a group of 6 people, & we all loved our different dishes.
The service was impeccable, with a friendly waiter & smiles all around.
This restaurant intrigued me since its opening because of its industrial ambiance, & I'm glad that I got to try it.
