Le Rouge Tomate is widely regarded as a hidden gem in Saint Sauveur, frequently praised for its exceptional food, creative flavor combinations, and impressive selection of wines. Many patrons highlight the warm, inviting atmosphere and the high quality of both breakfast pastries and evening dining menus, often describing the experience as a culinary delight. While the majority of guests have a wonderful time and appreciate the knowledgeable staff, some feedback suggests inconsistencies regarding service speed, pricing transparency, and occasional lapses in attention to detail. Despite these mixed experiences, the establishment maintains a loyal following that values its original dishes and cozy aesthetic, positioning it as a standout destination for coffee, dining, and artisanal treats.
It was a slow evening & we waited 30 min for our food order to be taken. Of the several dishes we ordered, the shrimp & Tomatoe salad were the only ones we enjoyed. The fois gras was not good I would skip that one. The wine was great.
Had the portuguese chicken sandwich 8/10
Pork Banh Mi 6/10 just because the pork pieces were big chunks & not the usual banh mi. but the marinate was amazing & spicy.
Iced vanilla coffee with oat milk 10/10
Service was good
The atmosphere is super cute, the selection of wine they have is very cool to take & gift someone on a special day. recommend it heavy & def will be back⭐?
Best experience I have had in years. Hidden little gem. Went in for a sandwich, walked out amazed. Wine bar with artisanal beers lining the shelves, traiteur quality snacks to die for. Brought home arrancincini because I didn't want the experience to end. The sandwich & cappuccino were indescribable. Staff is outstanding. Wouldn't change a thing ❤?
Came across this place as I was walking by. Cute cafe with some tasty food & beverage options. & they have a great selection of unique wines that you can buy & take away with you.
Take out wine counter by day &
delicious cosy restaurant by night.
The food was incredible, the wine selection is perfect, if you're in saint-sauveur, it's a must! 🤍
Can't wait to come back
**Too expensive**
Food was amazing! Somewhat small even if they are described as meals to share. You need to try the entire menu to feel at the very least'satisfied'... which makes the bill extremely high.
The quality of food was outstanding & fresh. But too small. Way too small.
The drinks & wine selection were better than expected. Drinks were perfect & original.
An amazing taste buds experience of original dishes wisely & carefully selected.
Very small with less than 10 tables so plan ahead, but it adds a cute'Italian' vibe & charm compared to bigger places around St Sauveur.
An amazing find, but as a traveler who tried a lot of restaurants around the world, the price for two people was just absurd for the sizes of the plates & this won't make us go back there.
$220 for two people. Ridiculous
A must try, but once.
My partner & I were in town for the weekend & ended up coming to Rouge Tomate three times! We had beautiful wine & olives one night & delicious cortados & a croissant for breakfast the next day. I spent the afternoon studying (which was no problem at all, such a lovely vibe with really chill energy) & then met my partner there for a late lunch & more delicious wine. The brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy & the sauce was the a nice balance of sweet & acidic. The butternut squash was simple but really tasted like squash & was great on a rainy day. Our favourite was the prosciutto & burrata focaccia with balsamic glaze. There was a generous amount of prosciutto, burrata & the focaccia was fresh & plush. We look forward to coming back! Loved the Manu Chao!
What an amazing dining experience. This new Buvette at the Rouge Tomate (open Thursday thru Saturday nights) was a culinary delight. The cocktails were creative, the wine list was top notch, & the service was personable & professional. I was expecting typical French brassiere dishes but this far exceeded my expectations. We tried 7 plates from the menu & all of them were hits. Creative, fresh, beautifully plated & cooked to perfection. We tried the broccolini with tahini - absolutely delicious; the oysters with a clementine coulis were fresh, the mushroom dish sooo good. The beef tartare was a surprise - very creative, beautifully plated & a delicious mix of flavour & texture. The butternut squash was done up zoodle-style with black truffle, parmesan & brown butter - really good; the Octopus with cucumber, fennel, hibiscus & pine nuts - cooked perfectly & a great combination of flavours; The cavatellis in a garlic & pecorino cream sauce with honeyed brussel sprouts were my favourite. Finished off with a delicious oversized, halved, semi-soft chocolate chip cookie with fresh raspberry sorbet & chocolate/pistachio ganache. The coffee is amazing too. I had a cappuccino that was so good, I ordered a second one. The atmosphere is trendy bistro, about 25-35 seats with good background music. Young, hip, & polished. The place was full but the noise level didn't impede conversation at our table. I will absolutely be returning for another visit. Hats off to Juliet & her amazing team.
