A cozy hidden gem in Montreal. Superb course menu & very cost effective.

Came here with a large group of friends on a Saturday night & we basically filled up the restaurant. It's a very small place & looks like someone's house transformed into a dining experience.

The menu is simple: you pick from a list of entrees & it will include a soup or salad, an appetizer, & a dessert for one single price.

I got a soup, beef & cheese profiteroles, duck breast, & a tarte tatin for $60! A four course meal for that price point is unheard of, & the quality definitely didn't disappoint either.

Each dish was carefully & professionally made, all presented to you like it was a Michelin star restaurant. Highly recommend getting the flank steak or the duck breast, & the rest is whatever you are craving.

It felt like you couldn't go wrong with any item here. The service was top notch & the ambiance was cozy. For a special occasion or date night, I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out!

A cozy space with a very genuine atmosphere. The people working at Le Pégase are not only great at their jobs but they also seem passionate about the restaurant.
As for the food, everything we ordered was delicious! Especially the beef cheek which was extremely tender.
For the price, it's out of this world. Both because it's delicious & the portions are generous too.
I'll certainly be coming back with more of my friends & family & will be recommending it as well.

Although the space is small, the atmosphere feels very cozy & welcoming.

Bread is served with butter & pâté, which instantly wakes up your palate. I especially loved the appetizer - braised beef & goat cheese profiteroles. The sauce is rich but not heavy at all, & the light, tangy red sauce on the side balances it beautifully.

For the main course, I had the shrimp pasta. It's tomato-based & looks quite simple at first, but the flavors are surprisingly rich with plenty of ingredients. Every bite was satisfying.

Dessert was apple pie with ice cream. The apple pie is sweet with a pleasant acidity & a strong cinnamon aroma, which pairs very well with the ice cream. The only small wish is that the ice cream portion could be a bit bigger.

Great for pretending you're in Paris - minus the space, plus the BYOB. 🍷

Parking around this spot can be quite tricky. The food quality is decent - they serve a fixed menu concept, but with enough choices to keep things interesting. Big portion for Asian appetite

To be fair, for the price you pay, the food is more than reasonable. The real highlight is definitely that it is BYOB! We brought 3 bottles with no corkage fee…

The place is extremely small, truly giving off the vibe of a cozy Parisian bistro.

Would I go back? Probably not, since Montreal has so many other great French restaurants to choose from.

The restaurant doesn't open every day, so it's best to make a reservation in advance. It serves very traditional French cuisine with simple but solid ingredients - especially generous portions of meat. The set menu comes to about $80+ per person after tax. The restaurant is quite small but cozy, with a warm atmosphere. Every dish was delicious, & even ordering without much thought felt safe - nothing disappoints here. - Bread: Cold, butter softened, chicken liver pate - phenomenal. I could eat it all.
- Soup. Rutabaga, very clean, flavourful & perfect hotness for the mouth.
- The froe grois: Cold like a stick of butter.
- Creamy, smooth, bread was lightly toast very airy. Apricot citrus balance & roasted peanuts.
- Duck breast: cooked medium, it could be rarer. Flavour was on point. Very full with the potato like root in bottom. Crispy skin. Demi-glaze. Beans carrots & Bok choy.
- Crème brûlée: thin sugar brûlée on top. Creme was creamy with a touch of French vanilla. Maple syrup.
- Chocolate mousse : nice presentation, too sweet. It didn't need the extra caramel or chocolate sauce on top. The peanuts complimented the texture & taste.

The portion size for each dish is very generous. Cost to Quality to quantity 👍🏻👍🏻
We noticed many people brought their own wine to pair with the food.

Food came out quickly, after each dish was served.

Restaurant is very cozy & quaint. There is barely any room between the neighbouring tables. When the server was at the other table, his butt bumped into my arm twice. It was rather firm.

I would Highly Recommend it this restaurant to everyone.
I will come back.

Nestled in-between homes was this cute & cozy restaurant. Everything from the starters to the dessert were great! I tried the beef profiteroles, joue de boeuf & the tarte tartin. My husband had the bison bavette for his main but was a bit disappointed with the flavour - it did not taste like bison, it tasted like beef. He had the pavlova for dessert - it is hard to choose which was the better dessert option - the tartin or the pavlova as they were both great!
The cons of the evening were the service - the waiters didn't take time to explain the menu options even though the menu is small & they aren't very attentive (they didn't
refill our water unless we asked them to). The AC also was not on so it was very hot & sticky inside the restaurant.
Overall - great food & we would recommend this BYOW restaurant!

What a charming restaurant! A hidden gem in Montreal with a cozy atmosphere. Tables are very close to each other but it only makes you feel like you are invited to a big gathering at a friend's house. Everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous & the prices are very affordable. They don't sell alcohol, so make sure to bring your own wine. & there is no corkage fee which is fantastic. The service was perfectly balanced - thoughtful without being intrusive. We are definitely going back to try other things on the menu which is constantly changing.
