Went to Le Pegase with a friend. We had the soup (4 star), croquette de boudin (4 star) & escargots with blue cheese (5 star), the lamb (4 star) & bison (4 star), the creme brulee (5 star) & the pavlova (4.5 star). But I forgot my 2001 valdicava brunello in the wine cooler; it went down to 11 C & lost its greatness.

Fabulous fabulous fabulous. Made a reservation for 2 & brought our own wine (no fee for corkage, be sure to bring your own though bc they don't sell wine). It's a set menu so you get ~4 courses included & the prices range from $55-67. They were out of the soup for starter so we had to pick salad, it was fine. The salmon tartare was amazing but the beef profiteroles were meh. For our main plates we got the lamb chops & bison steak - both a 10/10, amazing. The crème brûlée was to DIE for. I would eat that as my death row meal. The chocolate death thing was also good. Ended up spending ~$167 with tax & tip for the two of us. Worth it for this succulent meal.
We've been to Le Pegase several years ago & was really impressed by their food in term of their taste & presentation. The soup/salad, appetizer & entree are at expectation. I especially like their bison steak, the meat is medium-rare on top of meshed sweet potatoes, beans & bok choy. However, the pavlova was too hard to eat, kind of like over baked meringue. & the dessert of the day is three mini-chocolate puff, that can be easily get !at Costco. Anyway, the waiter was polite & efficient. The overall experience is nice.
Nestled in-between homes was this cute & cozy restaurant. Everything from the starters to the dessert were great! I tried the beef profiteroles, joue de boeuf & the tarte tartin. My husband had the bison bavette for his main but was a bit disappointed with the flavour - it did not taste like bison, it tasted like beef. He had the pavlova for dessert - it is hard to choose which was the better dessert option - the tartin or the pavlova as they were both great!
The cons of the evening were the service - the waiters didn't take time to explain the menu options even though the menu is small & they aren't very attentive (they didn't
refill our water unless we asked them to). The AC also was not on so it was very hot & sticky inside the restaurant.
Overall - great food & we would recommend this BYOW restaurant!
I have come to Pegase for years & found food excellent & well priced but not since he now only opens Thursday to Sunday & has only Gourmand table d hote. It just was not as good as the lamb lacked mustard sauce the bison was ok & the soup & entrees were just ok Tarte Tatin was very good. More importantly & this is a problem the restaurant must fix this as it is deceptive either by accident or on purpose,. Online prices are much lower than actual prices in restaurant..e.g. lamb listed $56 online is $64 in restaurant other items are at ;east 20 per cent les price online 20 per cent . 20 percent difference in online prices is just not good & deceptive. He also says he gives coffee or tea with the gourmand meal online which is the only meal he serves now but he does not The prices being 20 per cent more in restaurant is very very deceptive & should be corrected. ANOTHER thing that is actually in contradiction of Quebec new law his payment machines charge tips on the tax,,,This is against the law & needs to be fixed...We like tipping but do not like deception..No mention of this is made
Nth time: Something new something good!
Tous étaient vraiment délicieux! Pas cher. Allez y!
Entrée: soupe de navet, comme le goût chinois ; salad
Foie gras, tataki de thon
Plat: bavette de bison, médaillon de biche
Dessert: riz du pouding, crème brûlée
Unassuming, homie dishes. Friendly neighborhood restaurant. You can bring your own wine. Small space. The complimentary warm baguette slices with butter & liver mousse at the beginning of the meal were nice. Got the butternut squash soup, mini croque monsieur with duck confit, bison bavette, chocolate mousse. My friend got the salad, boudin noir puff pastry with pear compote, duck breast, tart tatin. With tax & tips it was ok.
