I went to Le Passé Composé for brunch with a couple of friends, & we had such a lovely time. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with a warm, modern, & elegant vibe.
I ordered the Champêtre, & it honestly blew me away. The combination of flavors & textures was so thoughtful & creative - a poached duck egg on brioche, wild mushrooms, pulled pork, & a creamy sauce. The crispy potato chips added such a perfect finishing touch. Every bite was balanced without feeling heavy - truly next level.

🦆 Foie Gras - Absolutely amazing! Melt-in-your-mouth texture, rich & silky - this one's a must-try. ✨
🦴 Bone Marrow - Would skip. Way too oily for my taste - just not worth it.
🍞 French Toast - Deep-fried, slightly greasy but hits that comfort food vibe. Not bad, just not exciting.

I visited this restaurant for the first time today & let me tell you it was amazing! The terrace is absolutely beautiful, very nice views. I ordered the Mediterranean grilled cheese & it did not disappoint, def top 3 best grilled cheeses I've ever had. I'd also like give an extra thanks to Alex my server. Good food (minus a burnt croque monsieur), bad service (hour wait for food, came out bit by bit, forgot sides). Tip reflected that, which the staff attempted to shame us into increasing. I was a big fan of the original spot & finally got to try this updated space - it's different in feel but still delivers on flavour. We had the Bagel Passé Composé (with fried avocado & smoked salmon), the Rustic plate with Gaspor pork & wild mushrooms, & of course, the iconic panko-crusted French toast. The textures & presentation were spot on, & service was quick & friendly. It's clear they've elevated their menu without losing the soul of what made Passé Composé a Montreal brunch legend. Super belle ambiance au soleil sur la terrasse pour un beau brunch du samedi matin! Personnellement je n'ai pas trouvé que le'Premium' du mimosa valait la peine (avec de la liqueur de framboise) comparativement à un mimosa classique, mais tout de même très bon. Oeufs pochés avec foie gras pour mon copain qui sortaient de l'ordinaire, os à moëlle pour moi & ouf, probablement un des meilleurs brunchs de notre vie!
