Review Summary

Le Paltoquet is widely celebrated as a cozy, charming destination known for its exceptional croissants, high-quality coffee, and an impressive selection of delicious cakes and pastries like the popular pistachoc. While the atmosphere is frequently described as warm, inviting, and perfect for relaxing or working, the experience can occasionally be impacted by long wait times or staffing challenges during busy periods. Access is highly convenient via the nearby metro station despite limited street parking in the area, and most visitors appreciate the friendly service and homey decor that make this hidden gem a local favorite for breakfast or a sweet treat.

We have been weekly clients for 21 years but after the sale of the patisserie the quality of products declined slowly & surely.First the brioches had a new recipe, after that the croissants were much smaller & less crispy or not fresh in the morning (very chewy) but we kept on going for the cakes. Now even the cakes are frozen maybe because the sales are not like before & whatever they are not selling, they have to freeze. In the Outremont newspaper, a letter from the new owners was published saying that all the recipes will be maintained-but it was not true. Why a business so perfect built by M.Laurent was destroyed ,I don't understand but with great regret we have to find another place & it's not so difficult in our area.

Nice cozy place, very good cafe & fresh pastry. This last time we tried caramel pear cake, it was lovely!

The most delicious croissants in Montreal! Just like real French croissants - always fresh, with magical, flaky dough that melts in your mouth.
