Visiting Montreal means anchoring near Chinatown for one simple reason >>> Le Lotus Bleu
despite the distance from my mission, for the pursuit of perfection in every plate of dumplings & every bowl of delicious soup.
Anyone giving this great place a food ranking lower than 4 is either upset about a matter & taking it too personally, or they simply don't appreciate real food that is legendary.
The atmosphere is not the greatest but I go there for the food. Sometimes the service is a bit slow & that is usually when it's super busy.
If you are seeking atmosphere, hit a diso or coffee lounge
If you are seeking great food, welcome to Le Lotus Bleu
Anyway they are the only Huimian I can find in Montreal, tastes are not like hometown, Shaoji (chicken) too salty, Huimian (soup noodle)'s soup is not delicious. Service is just so so.
Stopped here for a late lunch & it was delicious. Because they make their own noodles we tried this & we were not disappointed. The beef noodle soup was delicious & highly recommend the dumplings. My only comment is the air circulation inside was poor so it was quite warm....but the food was worth the stop. & our 6 yr old loved the spicier noodles. Yummm.
Fantastic food, always on point
I warmly suggest, either the braised beef or lamb soup
The other options are great , but those are 10/10 !!
Also their daoko herbal roasted chicken

Must-try hand-pulled thick noodles & a cool'live show' experience watching the noodle chef at work! The pork intestines & octopus were delicious. On the downside, the traditional Lanzhou items (lamb, soup, & tea eggs) were a bit bland. Definitely worth a visit for the noodles & the vibe, though!
La soupe de ramen est juste délicieuse !!!! 😍 Ma préférée est celle au boeuf que je trouve excellente mais les autres sont très bonne aussi ! Les noms & les vapeurs sont aussi très bon & le personnel est très gentil ! Je recommande !
What a yummy bowl of soup!!! Truly a hidden gem. No wait compared to other popular restaurants in the area.
Their noodles have the best chew & the broth is so so flavorful yet delicate. I appreciated that the spicy oil didn't overpower the rest of the dish, as with other noodle places I've been to.
Delicious hand pulled noodles at this casual Chinese restaurant in Chinatown in the Swatow Plaza. Nice decor & pleasant service. I had the Spicy Mushrooms & Chicken Noodle Soup & my husband had the imperial rolls & fried shrimp wontons. I loved my soup & my husband enjoyed his food.
We ordered half rotisserie, small size of beef green onion dumplings n cucumber salad for two people. I enjoyed a lot. Rotisserie is a bit salty, but it's very authentic like what in my childhood memories. I think it will be perfect to eat with the traditional Henan soupe noodles.
After seeing the reviews on the service I was hesitant, but the waitress was super sweet & the noodle soup hit the spot
Their noodle soup is delicious. I got the spicy minced pork one with the thicker noodles. I considered going two days in a row because I couldn't stop thinking about how much I enjoyed their food! Service was great too - fast & incredibly friendly.
The only draw back is that there is a lot not available on their menu (many items were crossed out) & the atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired.
Ill definitely go back next time I am in Montreal again.
Merci!
The handmade thick noodles are so fresh, chewy & soft...It was a comforting meal during a chilly evening after work. While the service is not the best except it is quick, the food is amazing & the price is inexpensive for a big bowl of noodle soup with bokchoy, eggs & tomatoes. For the same price, there are different proteins dishes to choose from. Overall, I will be back.
Wow, I didn't expect the beef noodle soup to be this good! The hand-pulled noodles are definitely the best part-perfectly chewy & delicious. It's a must-try.
The lamb soup, & the soups in general are very good & authentic. The crispy dumplings have the perfect texture. Don't fade the cold appetizer either if you like offals. They are delicious.
Also one of best fragrant chili oil in MTL.
This is an excellent Northern Chinese restaurant featuring freshly made noodles that are just as good as the next door noodle show in the window, Nouilles de Lan Zhou. If this restaurant would create a show of now with their people making noodles they would be just as busy. But they do make their own freshly made noodles of all kinds as well as fresh made dumplings & also Dim Sum.
Service: super friendly & knowledgeable. They always push their famous lamb & noodle soup bowl - & for good reason it's awesome. They know their product well & can guide you to a good meal.
Atmosphere: the place is not trying to be a 5-star high end restaurant. This is more like being in china with tables & chairs to accommodate many & family alike. It is a bit cramped but it somehow does not feel this way & instead makes it feel cosy & friendly.
One big note. They do not have a washroom & you have to go into the adjoining building on the second floor to the left. This is not their fault, but the building management does not maintain the same washrooms well at all so go elsewhere if you can.
Food: everything is fresh, freshly made, & very delicious. We sat near the noodle making & kitchen that you can see from the storefront window. It was lovely to watch the chefs make fresh noodles, dumplings & cooking things. I wish it was easier to see the cooking like an open kitchen concept with a view that acts as entertainment.
The portions were fantastic & the quality was present. The soups were excellent & to my surprise even the small size was sufficient to fill me up even though I was super hungry. The dumplings were so fresh & the texture was excellent as well the stuffing.
The star for us was the fresh noodles. They were excellent & I would even say better than most in the Chinatown area.
On my next trip to this restaurant we're going to try some other traditional dishes as well as the dim sum which looked & smelled great with the people next to my group.
Ordered xl minced pork soup & it was good! Added fried chilli, soya sos & vinegrette & shared with the husband. Great portions!
extremely underrated place. the food is spectacular i think about coming here all the time hahahah. the ladies working there are so lovely & kind!! the lamb soup & hand pulled noodles is my absolute fav
