Review Summary

Le Kahéra is widely regarded as a hidden gem near the Jean Talon market, offering a variety of flavorful Egyptian inspired sandwiches, hearty bowls, and high quality coffee options like the cardamom latte. Many visitors praise the welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and the inclusion of vegan options, making it a popular spot for a quick and delicious meal. While most feedback is overwhelmingly positive regarding the fresh ingredients and unique fusion menu, some diners have noted occasional inconsistencies in food portion sizes, pricing, or seasoning. Additionally, while the overall experience is frequently described as authentic and enjoyable, there are minor suggestions regarding the necessity of thorough produce preparation and service expectations.

I finally got the chance to try this place. Really nice atmosphere, resembles a take on a bodega except with Egyptian street food available. I got the chicken shawarma sandwich, which was staggeringly more pricy than any other shawarma pita I've had. This one was of pretty great quality, but it was also on the smaller side. For nearly $20 on it's own I wasn't really satisfied. The service by the bald guy behind the counter was fantastic, however. The place had a nice vibe to it, I probably would have been happier ordering a bowl.

Love this spot! Great service, good prices, & tasty food as well as drinks. I had an Americano & the Ful pita; would definitely recommend & it's vegan!

Great place for a tasty sandwich. Nest the Jean Talon market, but decided to go Middle Eastern instead. Got a panini style pita stuffed full of well seasoned meat & cheese with the traditional white & spicy sauces & a satisfying non alcoholic beer.

Got the full pita -- like a refried black bean with limey tomato & cucumber salad-- soo tasty & tangy, filling! What a lil gem!

Great atmosphere, great service, but the food was a bit lacking. I ordered their hawawshi pita & it was rather dry & not very flavourful. Also quite expensive at $14 for the portion size. Without the yogurt sauce I fear it would have been too dry to eat.

DÉLICIEUX pita shish poulet. Savoureux, généreux & bien assaisonné.
Le thé glacé hibiscus super beau & rafraîchissant.
Une belle découverte, j'y retournerai assurément.

Ful pita was so flavourful & vegan! It was so good I ate mine & then half my friend's, who was too full (pun intended) to eat the rest of her's as they are so big boys!

Egyptian street food for the win. Really delicious food, awesome service, & great ambiance here. I ordered the kul as it was the most vegetarian friendly. It was a huge portion bowl that I could've had a two meals. It came with seasoned beans, crunchy vegetables & ab egg with pita in the side. Overall it tasted really fresh & the price was right just CAD$11. When I got home I added some more protein to it. It was so dang good! They also had this cool coffee they were selling that had smells of strawberries & candy like Hi Chew but has no affiliation with the brand. Really interesting.

Hawawshi pita was delicious & full of flavour. Shish & shawarma pitas were disappointing & didn't taste like much. Portions were good.
