I visited this bar today & had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the service was absolutely outstanding staff were incredibly welcoming, always smiling, & attentive with water refills right on time. The ambiance is fabulous, & the interior is beautifully designed, creating a really enjoyable atmosphere to hang out in.
However, the drinks & food were a bit disappointing. I tried Le Jardinier & Melon Electric, & both were far too sweet & lacked the strength you'd expect from a proper cocktail. As for the food, the smash burger & chicken wings were just mediocre not much flavor or anything memorable.
Bar agréable & très joli avec un beau menu de cocktails & de vins. Le service est bien, mais ça prend du temps avant de venir ramasser les verres vides. Sinon je recommande!
We had a wonderful experience at Le Bar Darling for our anniversary, & Tony made it even more special. He kindly helped us take some beautiful photos to capture the moment. He was professional, friendly, & incredibly helpful. Thank you, Tony, for going the extra mile!
I did not expect this bar to be as spacious & beautiful as it was. & I didn't expect it to be so reasonably priced after I saw how extravagant the decor looked like. So in conclusion, it's my new favorite bar right now! (Got the Babyback Ribs & fries. Great taste & fast service.)
Visited on September 19, 2021, in late afternoon. This place, located on Saint-Laurent & Marie-Anne, in front of Parc des Portugais, has been opened since 2017 & I'm the first Ratebeerien to rate this place (& to add stuff), so what is so special about Darling, cider! A friend of former Ratebeerien TaktikMtl told him about this place, we meet (for the first time since de pandemic) & when we saw the menu, wow! Eleven ciders on tap, the most I've see was four, plus a good bottle selection. A pretty good beer selection on tap & bottles & cans, some are imported. There other speciality is oysters, in fact it the first thing you see on their menu before the ciders. They also have cocktails, a barista & a small food menu. The inside is very eclectic, seating for just drinking or having a meal, there is a round bar, mismatch decor. The place is just cool.
My favorite bar in all of Darlington - they have these display babies reminiscent of that walking simulator game. It is a bonanza of the kooky & it is appreciated. The beef tartakis were a succulent blend of beef & Baba ganó oush imagine it penetrating your taste buds, & it being like hard to scrape off without a well blended coctail. Went there on a Sunday night, the atmosphere - absolutely gorgeous, vintage, aesthetic, chic, a little bit of creep but just about right. Supposed to be a perfect short date, but our bartender that night decided he wouldn't help us achieve it. I could see he was obviously busy, but for a bartender that should not be the excuse to showcase terrific attitude to your customers. Minimum interaction, no eye contact, no trace of a smile, when I waited 10 mins for my wine to be poured after tasting, I thought the message was I had to pour it by myself since the bottle was put in front of me. As long as I touched the bottle, the bartender magically appeared, & instead of talking to me saying "please let me help you with that " or something professional, he made sounds with his lips that meant "no" & treated me like ... a pet? The attitude was above the roof, like he was a big shot & doesn't belong there, asking to be served is bothering him. - I know this is just my interpretation but that's how I felt at the moment, I found this unprofessional for the position he's holding, no matter what personal issues he might be going through, I've never been treated like this by any other bartender. Conclusion - a great place for a date in the evening, just don't sit at the bar, the waitresses work there are professional & friendly.
Glad a lot of people are giving good reviews, But I've got to give mine, the atmosphere is great, Things that were not meeting my expectations : - The table was sticky (On my side when I've arrived) I can't take this as an excuse, coming from someone who get to visits (Restaurants/Bar) almost every single day of the week, hygiene is a standard & a must. - Representation matters for any business, some waiter(s) need(s) to be better when interacting, don't roll his eyes up & when people smile to you at least try to reach some compatibility. The reason I'm not giving it 0, the atmosphere was kind of cool, location not far from my place neither my surroundings, but I would definetly not recommend for those who I know neither the ones who will be joining as visitors or tourists.
One of the coziest bars in Montreal with a super unique atmosphere. Definitely the go-to spot for a chill evening drink, some appies, or even some not chocolate in the winter. Menu pricing is really good for Montreal. Busier on the weekend nights, would suggest on a weekday evening for a bit more calmness. Order the cheesecake if you're a cheesecake lover.
Lovely bar to drop in during a warm & sunny afternoon to have a drink. We only had a light snack - our main focus was on Quebec ciders & they had 5-6 on tap. The server was originally from Steveston BC (I/we're from Vancouver) & he was quite knowledgeable & helpful - walking us through the various selections. We especially liked the blush (apple skins were left in during fermentation) & another mainly based on Honeycrisp & a crabapple (Dolgo). Will go back on our next trip to Montreal.

Lieu surprenant 😮 cuisine atypique mais de qualité..le service c'est 50/50 (certains sont très sympas,d'autres franchement moin🤣) bonne ambiance décor très spécial mais qui fait le charme particulier de l'endroit... Seul le quartier m'a beaucoup moin plu... Mais bon, content d'avoir été dans ce bar resto tellement différent
The ambiance of the bar is great. Very spacious as well. However, the food was not good. I know 5 people at our large table that ordered their steaks in a very specific way & they all came back rare - despite nobody ordering rare. Myself & my friend both ordered the ribs. They were dry, difficult to eat, & not very good for a whopping price of $23. My friend wanted to send hers back & the server told you "well this is what you ordered". I've never seen a server act like that when a customer has a problem with their food. The food is also very small portions for what you're getting. Drinks are also expensive for the sizes you're getting. Our server also seemed annoyed every time we wanted to order more drinks or had any questions. We caught her rolling her eyes at our table too. There is no organization to this place either. It was hard to order anything after placing our food orders, as our server never came to our table to check in on us. & upon wanting the bill, she did not ask how we wanted the bills split, & instead she came with bills for each individual person when there were multiple couples at the table that wanted our meals on the same bill. I've never had such an unpleasant server at a bar or restaurant before. She made our group feel very unwelcome & annoying. I would never go back to this location. Maybe you get better service as a smaller group, but if you're a big group, I don't recommend.
What a cozy little bar! Stopped in during a business trip to Montreal for some drinks & snacks & really enjoyed it. The food was EXCEPTIONAL - the olives & lupini beans were delicious! We actually ended up coming back a second time during the trip because of how good it was. Highly recommend visiting!
Highly Recommend!! Everything about this place is charming!! Sit at the bar, lean back ;) try it, grab a book, a beer, a coffee, or a smoothie, & enjoy friendly service too!! We just stopped in for drinks, but the food looked great as well & we loved the atmosphere!
