Le Cochon Dingue is described as a bright, spacious, and stylish spot with a playful pig decor that keeps the atmosphere lively yet welcoming for families and theatre goers alike. The service is repeatedly praised for being friendly, attentive, and efficient, even with large groups, though a few visits report slower service during peak times and occasional delays for drinks or courses. The menu receives broad praise for variety and value, with generous portions across brunch, burgers, poutines, pork dishes, and other comfort options, and many reviewers feel the prices offer good value for what is served. Brunch is especially well regarded, with several dishes highlighted as flavorful and satisfying and the overall experience often described as a solid first choice for a pre show or a casual meal. Some critiques mention inconsistencies such as certain dishes being overdone, underseasoned, or not hot enough, and a handful note missteps during dinner service or on off nights. Overall, Le Cochon Dingue tends to emerge as a dependable, crowd pleasing option in Montreal, particularly for breakfast and brunch, with a memorable ambiance and strong service, while dinner experiences can vary and may benefit from kitchen consistency.

This has been our fav breakfast first since we heard the restaurant is coming to Montreal. The quality & service never disappoints. Mark(Marko) is a great server, he made our latest experience, very pleasant.

Ce fut une très belle visite & expérience à ce restaurant à Montréal avant un spectacle à la Place des Arts .
Bel accueil, très bon service avec Marco , bonne bouffe & endroit très agréable. Merci pour tout , nous avons tous apprécié !
We went to cochon dingue after seeing a movie on a quiet Thursday night. It was after 9pm.
The good: The location is convenient. The resto itself looks really nice! Feels upscale yet casual / family friendly. Comfortable quality chairs. The service was also very professional. They have raving reviews so they are obviously doing something right.
The bad: We ordered the tartare duo (beef & salmon) & the fried chicken plate to share.
Both tartares had an emulsion looking white film on them. The meat pieces were stringy & so the texture was definitely off.
*** The worst part (for me) was the overuse of oregano flakes. It was everywhere & it was all you could taste. It was even covering the (kinda stale, if I'm honest) toast. It was so overwhelming that 1 week later I feel like I can still taste it & it's kinda turned me off of that herb for a while. Really off putting. The fries were also cold.
The fried chicken was mid. Overcooked on the outside & undercook on the inside. Just want to clarify that it was not raw, just kinda tough, as if it had not been brined prior to cooking.
Maybe we came on an off night, but over all we didn't like the 2 dishes we ordered.
Food was very mediocre, but I'm gonna be a little generous with the overall rating just because my friend didn't want to get any pork dishes which is probably where they shine. The fried chicken was underwhelming. The chicken sauce has a weird flavour to it. Coleslaw wasn't great either. The beef tartare was stringy instead of cubed nicely, the salmon tartare was okay. The bread it was served with was so heavily seasoned that it competed with the tartares. Service was pleasant, music was good. Cocktails were alright but should have been mixed prior to serving.
Chain restaurant across Quebec province. It is a wonderful meal with good service. This location was very crowded & rather loud, but had an upscale/modern atmosphere. The food was wonderful, however, if you are visiting Montreal for a vacation, I'd recommend finding some other locations as this is a bit more on the touristy side.
Je connaissais le Cochon Dingue pour l'avoir découvert dans la région de Québec alors je savais que je ne serais pas déçue & bien voilà. Ni plus ni moins, service IMPECCABLE, salade délicieuse. J'ai bien aimé & j'y retournerai pour le pâté chinois as soon as I can 🙌🏼

The food was incredible!! Genuinely glad I checked out this relatively new resto. There were a good amount of gluten free options which was fantastic! Meat was perfectly cooked. Juicy & tender. Highly recommend for the food. The only negative I'd say was the service. I'm not sure if they were understaffed because it was a Monsay, but the waiter felt rushed. & the wait times for things was much longer than expected, as it felt like the waiter kept being forgetful.
Stylish & comfortable restaurant with phenomenal food at reasonable prices. We came for brunch & everything - our drinks (latte, americano, hot chocolate) & main courses (including sweet & savoury options) were all delicious. Service was also noteworthy & we felt welcomed with our young children (who loved the little smoothie shots that preceded the meal)!
