Inspired by Williamsburg’s praise, the 25-seat space is beautiful! he establishment’s cocktails are house-made and thought up by the team. The menu at Henden is in the same vein as the Bird Bar, but revisited. It was designed for the space: easy to eat with your fingers and goes well with cocktails. It features oysters, a caviar station, blinis, truffle macaroni bites.

I went here for an early dinner on a Saturday night. The place wasn't too busy. I ordered the tartare & my friends got the fried chicken, Mac & cheese, & oysters. The service was excellent ! Their salmon tartare is different than what I've had at other restaurants & is a decent option is you're looking for something lighter than fried chicken. The crispy fried wontons that come with the tartare were a nice touch & made the dish more filling. My friends really liked the chicken.View more

Update 2025
Still a very nice place, had the famjam (6 pieces, 6 wings). Chicken was fantastic. Wings were a bit overcooked. The dish could use a bit more sides, it was served with a fairly big melon salad & …. 1 cupcake sized corn bread. It felt a bit disappointing for a dish sized for 2-3 people.
Service was very good as well.

Great service, fried chicken was very crunchy, 2 should be sufficient for most people! We had the plate with waffles, those were fantastic, the maple sirup & sriracha sauce was spicy but not over done. The melon feta salad was great. We had the key lime pie, perfect. We also had the churros, they were great, the only very small critic was that the caramel sauce was too salty for our taste. Also had the strawberry ginger cocktail which was spicy & tasty, really enjoyed.
Overall superb place! For people going there i recommend looking at the menu before, they have a fair selection but it's not a large menu. Second note, if you take 2 or 3 pieces plate, the sides are extra.

Dinned here on August 24th, we were walking on Rue-Notre Dame & came across this restaurant. We were seated immediately & got to choose where we sat. There were only a few people inside but it was early lunch so understandable. We ordered the Truffle Mac & Cheese, Chicken & Waffles & Indian Butter Chicken Tacos (2) Everything was delicious. I was hesitant to try the tacos because everyone makes their butter chicken differently but I was pleasantly surprised. The Mac & Cheese I got as a side dish & could have just ate that by itself. The music was nice, the seats were comfy & the atmosphere was cozy & chic. They did bring me the wrong order at one point but quickly rectified it!View more

Really sad how the quality of this place has diminished drastically. In the beginning when Kim Lalouz was around it was good. I think the cooks really just don't care or taste any of the dishes before they go out. We ordered the fried chicken & waffles & the 3 piece chicken with corn bread & slaw. The chicken was very under seasoned devoid of salt same with the corn bread & that coleslaw is sad as hell no salt no vinegar no flavour. It's supposed to be a fresh addition that cleanses the palette from the fried chicken . Disappointing to say the least . The chicken also had no seasoning & the batter was hard & dry over fried. Corn bread was super dry & seemed like was made a day ago. The bill came to 92$ with tip . I know it sucks to say but I would have literally rather eat kfc than this over priced hype machine. To the chef or owners I urge you to taste the food coming out the pass of the kitchen. Its unacceptable for the priceView more

This is a place I have walked by for the past 7 years or so. I finally went in with big expectations for awesome fried chicken. I ordered the popcorn chicken. There was a nice portion. Sadly it was overcooked & was so hard I couldn't pierce it with my fork. The sweet chili sauce was probably out of a jar. I also had a mocktail, a strawberry cucumber smash, it was absolutely delicious. The staff, everyone I had the pleasure to come in contact with were fun, polite, & friendly. Great place for brunch! We made last minute reservations & the staff was super kind with great service:) I ordered the Nutella waffle while my partner ordered a Fully loaded Breakfast & we loved it! Now that we love the brunch, we look forward to lunch & dinner at Bird Bar. Highly recommend this place to everyone 👌 UPDATE: We went for dinner & were just as impressed with the waterlemon with feta salad, shrimp tacos, bacon with maple on brussel sprout, poutine with duck leg, & elephant ear! Overall, a good experience. Drinks were quite expensive for the size & were quite regular. We each got a 2-piece regal fried chicken meal, which comes with their cornbread & coleslaw. We didn't try the coleslaw but the chicken was well cooked, a decent portion size & well seasoned & crispy. I liked that they had many options for dipping sauces the Honey Dijon was good. The cornbread left much to be desired, overly buttery & garlicky (& I love those things) & the jalapeno in it felt out of place & took over the flavor. I would go again & try their brunch. The atmosphere & vibe were nice though; went on Sunday evening so it was pretty quiet. Music was great & the lighting was nice though a bit too dim by the end. Went there for dinner with a large group. Service was a bit slow, but there were a few other large groups there that night. Most of us got the fried chicken & it was really, really good. Skin was nice & crispy & meat was juicy. Their cornbread was terrible. Dry, & no taste at all, except the spice from what I believe was jalapeno chunks. Despite being a tad slow, service was friendly. Music was really loud, & they kept messing with the intensity of the lights in the room, which was weird. Overall, great place & will go back.View more

Great concept, friendly service, the food itself can be inconsistent though. I'll return someday for sure! However, the first time here I had the best chicken + waffles in my life & the second time around, I wouldn't recommend the 2 or 3 piece chicken meals for their current recipe: a bit much breading & overcooked. That said, the popcorn chicken was great, while theduck nachos were a bit light on meat, sweet potato fries are good. Great staff & lots of options for drinks & dietary options.View more

Very disappointing. Despite the place being almost empty on a Saturday night, it took an hour & a half to get our main courses. As for the fried chicken, which is supposed to be their specialty, its reputation is overhyped to say the least. No seasoning at all in the batter, & it was way overcooked & dry. Was excited about this one, but it missed the mark, unfortunately. Started with the pulled duck nachos. These were AMAZING! The sauces were even better than the duck, but it's too bad the sauces & meat were not evenly distributed, would have been nice to have unform bites. But the overall flavor was quite good. Our table split 2 Famjams which comes with 6 pieces of chicken, 6 wings, 1 piece of cornbread, 2 sauces & watermelon feta salad. The chicken, which needs to be the start, wasn't bad, just nothing exciting. Relatively juicy, the problem was the batter. They use a very smooth batter so there is no classic fried chicken texture, & the batter is somewhat bland. The sauces should help & the flavors of the various sauces are great, but the serving size is paltry. No chance you have enough sauce for the amount of chicken there. Cornbread was good, some heat frmo the jalapeno was a great touch, but a single small-muffin-sized piece for a platter that serves 2-3 people is just insufficient. Cocktails were good, service was attentive & our water glasses were never empty, so that's a positive point. Would I come back? Not by my own choice, but if other people are going, I would probably give it another chance. Maybe.View more

It was an Delivery Order so cannot comment on environment. But Service was good as the packaging was one of the best one's I have seen where they put a packing seal on every box. Cannot comment the same about the food though. I ordered the following items: 1) Ailes de poulet / Chicken Wings -> 1/5 -> (Full of Oil & might I add felt like re-used oil was used to fry them). 2) Birdbar burger / Birdbar Burger -> 2/5 (Size is good, Chicken patty was full of Oil, again same kind of feeling that I had with chicken wings, old oil might have been used to fry it) 3) Fries -> Soggy, Again I cannot say 100% it is what they intended might have been because of delivery time. However I had ordered from many other stores in the past, & not a lot of them have this issue. & looking at the price that you pay here I would expect it to be better then others. Overall, I would not be ordering again from this store, because of the price & quality mis-match. & to be honest, even if the price was less after having to taste the food I would still not order it 2nd time. Just to point out, this was experience purely based on Order Delivery, & might not match the review one might give from the experience from dine-in.View more

One of top restaurants on Notre-Dame! Almost all dishes are chicken-based but the best part is they aren’t greasy & don’t make you feel bloated afterwards. We had popcorn chicken & tacos, highly recommend. We sat on the terrasse outdoors, the light is very ambient but all tables are so close to each you feel crammed.
