Le Bay Ca Phe emphasizes the intricate balance of authentic Vietnamese culinary traditions paired with the modern cafe culture found in urban settings. The menu centers on meticulously prepared bowls of phở and aromatic bánh mì featuring crusty baguette rolls packed with savory proteins, pickled vegetables, and fresh herbs. A selection of robust Vietnamese coffees provides the necessary caffeine kick through rich, sweetened condensed milk profiles. The interior aesthetic prioritizes functional simplicity, creating a streamlined environment that facilitates quick service and focused consumption. Patrons interact with a concise, high-quality offering that emphasizes texture and deep, layered flavors rather than unnecessary complexity. Every component reflects a disciplined approach to preparation, ensuring consistency across every served item within this specialized space. This establishment maintains a commitment to accessible, vibrant food that remains deeply rooted in traditional Southeast Asian methodology.
Le Bay Ca Phe generally receives high praise for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine, with many customers highlighting the flavorful pho broths, fresh ingredients, and high-quality banh mi as standout dishes. The atmosphere is frequently described as cozy, modern, and inviting, making it a popular neighborhood spot for both lunch and dinner. While the majority of reviews applaud the attentive and efficient service, some diners find the space to be a bit cramped or noisy during peak hours. Though experiences with specific dishes like coffee or sides vary, the overall sentiment remains very positive, with many patrons considering it one of the best Vietnamese dining options in the city.
The food was not great at all, unfortunately. The spring roll was nice & fresh with a great sauce but the noodles/shrimp proportion was off.
The fried wontons were absolutely terrible & tasteless inside (beef) & the beef banh mi was more bland than not with too many big chunks of cilantro & the carrots shredded too thinly. I love banh mi but I did not love this one. All in all I do not think I would return nor would I recommend it.
Delicious pho soup(had the rare beef) & grilled beef bun( vegetable spring rolls that came with it was meh) tofu vermicelli pho from one of our members was very yummy. Sizes were smaller than what we are used to in Toronto but items here were more fragrant.
WOW this place is so delicious, I'm so sad that it's not in my hometown (Toronto). As a vegetarian, it's not easy to find Vietnamese places that have options for me. But almost every dish has a protein option of fried tofu. I got tofu vermicelli & by default the fried spring rolls that come with it are vegetarian. Everything was SO delicious, & everyone I was with also loved what they got (beef pho, grilled beef vermicelli). Will definitely come back again next time I'm in Montreal! Vibe of the place was very cool & modern, & waiters were nice as well.
Really love this place, cozy vibes, good service & great food. Just wish they'd stay open past 9pm, & their tables weren't so stuck together (it's hard to go in & out of the banquette due to the size of the tables). We found their cucumber salad too salty/one note. Otherwise, the mini beef pho, chicken spring roll, & the tofu vermicelli bowl all delicious. Not to mention those tasty desserts!

The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of traditional dishes, but the standout is undoubtedly their pho. The broth is rich & flavorful, simmered to perfection with aromatic spices that make every spoonful a delight. The beef slices are tender & the fresh herbs add a vibrant touch.
