L'avant gout is my go-to grocery store. The owner & his staff are always incredibly friendly, welcoming, & helpful. The products are consistently great quality, & they genuinely try to accommodate whenever you need something specific. It's always a pleasant experience shopping there. L'Avant Goût Épicerie is a hidden gem, it's exactly what a neighbourhood grocery shop should be. The selection of local Québec products is thoughtfully selected - from artisanal cheeses & small-batch preserves to locally roasted coffee & unique pantry staples you won't find in big chains.

You can tell the owners cares about the quality & community. Everything feels intentionally chosen, highlighting regional producers & seasonal ingredients. It's the kind of place where you pop in for one item & leave inspired to cook a three course meal!

The staff are warm, knowledgeable, & happy to share recommendations, which makes the experience feel personal rather than transactional.
